Position: Web Ninja
Now hiring - Web Ninja Reports to: Chief Technology Officer
Compensation: commensurate on experience
Description: The Web Ninja is a master of sorts and a do-er of good. The ideal ninja is contagiously passionate about empowering young people to take action. On the technical side, they are keen in spotting problems throughout the DoSomething.org website and troubleshooting them. They will be in charge of navigating DoSomething.org and work closely with the code monkey [lead developer] and digital media guru to make improvements. Whether it'd be working to spread the good of DoSomething.org through campaigns, boot camps, or the clubs program, the ninja is flexible and knows how to navigate the exciting terrains that DoSomething.org has to offer.
Responsibilities:
* Provide online assistance for registered users and help moderate online community on the site, and through social media channels
* Analyze user needs to determine technical requirements and site improvements
* A/B test and optimize for the user
* Design small graphics and layouts for product illustrations, logos, the website, and implement them as needed
* Build and maintain micro-sites, using authoring or scripting languages, content creation tools, management tools, and digital media
* Perform or direct website updates
Requirements:
* 4-year college degree
* Knowledge of HTML & CSS & Drupal. PHP, mySQL, and JS are a plus.
* Knowledge of social media tools such as Facebook and Twitter.
* Advanced knowledge of Photoshop and Illustrator. Also Dreamweaver. Flash and InDeisgn a plus. (Don't need to be a designer)
* Advanced knowledge of Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
* Interest in innovation, brainstorming, and all things creative.
* Play nicely with others: ability to work with a team Keen interest in young people changing the world
* Good kickball player
