Drupal developers of all experience levels, shape and size... | Brightlemon Ltd

We are a London based development company currently looking for Drupal developers of all experience levels, shape and size... if you are looking for a permanent, part time, freelance or even a trainee position in Drupal please get in touch.

If you fit any of the following descriptions do contact us...

1) Experienced Drupal developer
3+ years Drupal experience. Solid URLs under your belt. Looking for large scale, high-profile projects to sink your teeth into. Wanting to manage a team or just write a lot more code... but to achieve a senior position and a career path with long term benefits (financial, developmental, spiritual etc.).

2) Middle weight Drupal developer
1- 2 years Drupal experience. Looking to take Drupal knowledge to the next level by working with other Drupal developers in a collaborative environment. Wanting to work on larger projects (not just the local corner shop web site) and progress personally via a structured in-house training plan

3) Trainee Drupal developer
Newbie or <6 months experience. Perhaps with a PHP/LAMP background. Still getting to grips with CCK but you know it will be awesome when you do. Wanting to work on some live projects with guidance from slightly more experienced Drupal developers... also wanting a structured plan for personal Drupal training/development.

4a and 4b) Drupal Themer/Trainee Drupal themer
If you're a seasoned Drupal Themer or experienced in creating valid xhtml/css from flat designs and looking to get involved in an expanding Drupal/web development company then this role's for you.

5) Drupal Freelancer/Small company
If you're all of the above 1-4 combined and can show us how you build a site using Drupal the Drupal way then do contact us. We're always looking to get in touch with good people. You need to be responsible, organised and reliable though! If you only do Drupal 2 days a year and spend the other 363 hitchhiking around the world, then the work we have probably isn't for you.

For all the above roles we would also factor in time to contribute documentation, themes, modules back to the Drupal community.

Send any CVs, covering letters, questions to jobs@brightlemon.com... Look forward to working with you...

Developer | WWOOF UK (World Wide Opportunities on Organic Farms)

Here is a request for proposals for a project to create an online database and website for WWOOF (World Wide Opportunities on Organic Farms) UK.

Feel free to submit a proposal for this project and get in contact with any questions, recommendations and suggestions. If you know of anywhere else we could publicise this, then feel free to repost it there or let me know and I will.

In case you haven't heard of WWOOF, it is a great non profit organisation that lists organic farms and small holdings that want to have people come and volunteer with them and learn about organic agriculture in exchange for board and lodging. It was started in the UK in 1971 and there are now lots of WWOOF organisations all around the world (see http://wwoof.org for more details).

I am a director of WWOOF UK and am helping them choose a contractor for this work (otherwise I would probably be bidding for this myself).

And if you feel like some time away from your computer, I definitely recommend WWOOFing for a weekend/month/lifetime - it's pretty good fun.

contract Drupal developer | School Digital

Hello

We are School (www.schooldigital.co.uk) - a small Drupal specialist digital agency. Occasionally we require additional development resources to help us complete projects for clients.

In this instance we are looking for a Drupal developer to work with us on a short (2-day) project to provide Drupal theming and basic site configuration. (Drupal 5)

1 - creating theme templates and CSS based on designs that have already been approved by the client. This will include CSS for form elements and several different block styles, plus two different page layouts. Theming must include the admin area and print-friendly style sheets
2 - setting up the basic site on our development servers, including configuring a list of standard modules (e.g. Pathauto and blog)
3 - configuring menus, taxonomy, block settings etc based on a site structure we will provide

The site will then be taken over by us to add the client's content and flesh out the menus.

The full development needs to be completed within 2 weeks, so we're looking for someone to complete the areas listed above by around July 16th.

The site does not feature any functionality more complex than a contact form - we are looking for developers who are able to accurately recreate the artwork we will supply and who can anticipate (within reason) needs that the client may have in terms of ongoing site management. We expect approximately a 2-day turnaround, with agreed deadlines adhered to and regular communication during the duration of the work, which will be supervised jointly by our head of development and the client account manager.

As an initial assessment we would like to give any interested parties a 2-hour paid piece of work to deliver. This will consist of some basic CSS amends on an existing site, to get a feel for who we will be working with.

We will pay $50 for the assessment work and $400 for the project work.

Contact kat@schooldigital.co.uk

London Web Week

Seven days of web design and development events, taking place in central London from 26th May to 1st June, 2008.

A not-for-profit scheme, the aim of London Web Week is to promote the events within it, to raise the profile of the web industry and community both within London and further afield, and to highlight best practices in web design such as accessibility considerations.

Conferences, workshops, social events and more will provide a range of educational and inspirational activities for web design enthusiasts of all levels, from beginners to professionals. The 10+ events will see big, established conferences side-by-side with numerous smaller events taking place in central London during the daytime and evenings.

LWW is an umbrella for each event which, with the exception of Web Roots, are autonomously run by independent individuals, communities, and companies. There is still room for more events and we encourage potential event organisers to get in touch. Please see the Participate page for more details.

London Web Week is organised by a committee made up of several of the organisers of the events within it. If you would like to contact us, please don’t hesitate to drop us an email at info@londonwebweek.co.uk

DrupalCon Europe for London?

I saw some brief discussion about DrupalCon Europe being in London next time. Anyone got any thoughts on that? Is anyone actually working on a proposal? Seems to me if it's going to happen, it will need a concerted effort from UK-based Drupal developers and businesses. Be curious to see if anything's going on/anyone is giving this any thought. The publicity would be great for all of us! :-)
