Our Need:

Social Contxt seeks to hire a creative, motivated, entrepreneurial, and civic-minded marketer with experience offering social media and communications technology services to the nonprofit and/or political sectors to lead our sales and marketing efforts. The Business Development and Marketing Coordinator will be responsible for further developing and implementing our corporate marketing strategy, with a heavy focus on search and social media marketing. You will manage our sales process from lead identification to account maintenance. You will stay tuned into the nonprofit and political technology markets and identify unique opportunities for us to market our services to new clients and introduce our company to new verticals.

Your Responsibilities:

The Business Development and Marketing Coordinator will be responsible for:

* Researching and building relationships with potential nonprofit, political and SRB clients in the Northeast and DC/MD/VA areas, and identifying new verticals where our company can make an impact.

* Identity both online and offline, paid and free marketing opportunities to help raise our profile as a company and reach potential clients.

* Manage Social Contxt's website, online marketing and social media efforts, refining and documenting current practices and introducing new, innovative strategies to promote our company online.

* Work with our design team to produce print marketing material, including presentation documents; brochures and other informational material; document templates; and case studies and reports.

* Produce weekly reports of sales and marketing efforts, making strategic recommendations on ways to improve and better integrate our overall marketing strategy.

* Draft client proposals, scopes of work, client service agreements, and other required documentation.

* Perform other related duties, as assigned. 

Your Qualifications:

* Bachelor’s degree required. Master's degree desired, but not required.

* Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in a (online and/or offline) marketing, communications, or sales position working with the nonprofit and/or political sectors. Experience working for a social media or web technology startup is a plus.

* Experience writing proposals, estimating project costs, and developing draft time lines for client projects.

* Strong knowledge of the nonprofit and political technology industries. Experience managing web properties using open source content management systems (Drupal and WordPress), and CRM systems (SALSA, Blue State Digital, Convio, etc) a plus.

* Must possess excellent written, verbal, and graphical communication skills. Experience presenting or leading trainings for large and small groups is a plus.

* Demonstrated ability to juggle many tasks while producing consistently outstanding results in a rapidly-changing environment.

* Experience using project management and team collaborations tools, such as Basecamp or Manymoon, and Google Apps required.

* Experience managing sales and marketing efforts using Salesforce.com.

* Proficiency with HTML and CSS. Knowledge of PHP a plus, but not required.

Compensation:

This is a part-time, contract position. Hourly rate is commensurate with experience and qualifications.
