Web Infrastructure and Cloud Developer

At Acquia, we are obsessive about hosting uptime and scalability. We are seeking an exceptional web infrastructure engineer and cloud guru who shares this obsession to help us deliver our best-in-class web hosting services. Acquia customers look to us to deliver reliable performance and features that "wow" end users. You will work with a small team of exceptional systems engineers to design and implement our cloud-based, scalable hosting infrastructure using the latest technologies. You will develop the software tools and systems necessary to reliably deploy, maintain, monitor, and support hosting environments for thousands of enterprise customers. In our fast-paced environment, you'll leverage your web, database, OS and networking knowledge to make sound engineering judgments and to create novel solutions to tough technical problems.
Essential Skills and Characteristics

* 3+ years experience in Linux systems engineering and software development
* Aptitude to work in object oriented scripting languages such as ruby, php, python, perl
* Ability to work within all layers of the hosting stack including load balancing, web servers, database, reliable file systems, and networking
* Aptitude for web server configuration (especially Apache)
* Abilities in OS administration and installer technologies
* Knowledge of networking including TCP/IP, HTTP, and load balancing
* Familiarity with source control systems and branching methodologies (Subversion experience is a plus)
* Comfortable creating and extending makefiles
* Excellent organizational and communication skills, both verbal and written
* BS in Computer Science or a related field or equivalent experience
