A leading digital agency in Cape Town is looking for the services of a senior PHP developer in a permanent team leader position! The position will require this person to lead a team of designers and developers and to make sure that the department is streamlined and writing code that’s as efficient as possible and hitting all deadlines ahead of schedule.

KEY FUNCTIONS:

Development of new database driven php applications. Development of modifications and add-on modules to existing php applications. Trouble-shooting of php applications. Customisation and modification of third-party software programmes (GNU) for clients. Selecting the most suited platform/methods for each development.

ESSENTIAL SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

4 yrs plus PHP experience
3yrs MySQL experience
3 yrs plus JavaScript experience
CSS
Framework knowledge (JQuery, Joomla, Drupal, Magento etc.)
HTML
Linux
Zend Framework experience is beneficial

ADDITIONAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

The right person for this job is looking for ways to improve the department. This would include the installation of libraries to speed up work, writing re-usable code, researching new platforms and making this resource easily accessible.

This person should be a people’s person in that he/she will be required to interact effectively with the people in the department and potentially with clients. We want this person to lead the team into a dynamic and energised environment.
