We are holding a couple of semi-formal training days here at the office in Auckland. Dates are flexible based on demand, but it will happen after 19 March and before 1 April.
We've been doing an increasing variety and complexity of work in Drupal, and its about time we sat down and shared our knowledge around the team members internally. Rather than just do it beer & pizza style, we are calling in some more expertise and structuring it around a 2 day seminar + workshop event.
And rather than keep it just internal, if we're going to the trouble I thought we should throw it open to other developers in AK and see if we can get more of a Drupal thing happening in this city.
There will be a total of around 8-10 spaces, and over half of those are already filled with friends and family. I'd appreciate an email if you're interested and we can allocate some space according to demand.
The proposed structure:
1st Day: Drupal fundamentals, setting up your sites right from the outset, key concepts, must-dos, must-nots!
2nd Day: Structured workshop sessions around resolving both common-to-everyone and specific-to-you problems.
The idea is that Day 1 will lay a foundation and get everyone on the same page and then we can workshop through issues on Day 2 in a more meaningful way than simply talking it over.
At this stage we are prepared to offer attendance for free, since we're doing it for ourselves anyway and are keen to boost Drupal in these here parts.
