State of Chat?

What is the current best solution to get a simple chat in a block? I tried chatroom, which I really liked, but when I try creating a "view" in a block, it gets all screwy. I'd next consider phpfreechat, but its warnings about jquery scare me off. I guess a third party solution is the next option?

Thanks,

There are a couple of other solution you can look at. It all depends on the solution you are looking for.
Shoutbox http://drupal.org/project/issues/shoutbox
Ajaxim http://drupal.org/project/ajaxim

There may be some more. I use the Shoutbox but have not tried ajaxim.

Is anyone using FlashChat with their Drupal site? http://www.tufat.com/s_flash_chat_chatroom.htm

It seems to be used very effectively at couchsurfing.com

I'm tempted to give it a go, but would like to hear if anyone's had any experiences with it.

Cheers
