Welcome to the North Carolina Drupal Users Group.
Feel free to chat or post about your current projects you are working on to get feedback or help.
Maybe we can get a meeting setup somewhere in NC or in various places in NC for users to get together and share more ideas or collaborate on new and on-going projects.
Twitter?
Just curious how many NC Drupal peeps are on twitter. I imagine most of you are. Lets share some twitter and create some community. I'll go first.
Follow me and I'll follow you.

10 Days Left to List your Organization in Idealware's CMS Directory
I'm forwarding this message from the NTEN Drupal group. It looks like a good place to be listed. -- Judy 1/16/09
Esteemed Colleagues,
Time is running out to be included in Idealware's comprehesive CMS Service Provider Directory. All companies, organizations or individuals that advise on or implement CMSes for nonprofit organizations are invited to submit their contact information to be included in the "WordPress, Joomla, Drupal, and Plone: Comparing Open Source CMSs for Nonprofits."
This is an effective and very affordable way to reach community members in search of CMS solutions.

January Raleigh/Durham/Chapel Hill Drupal Meetup: Theming Tutorial
Have you used Drupal themes before but felt overwhelmed when it came time to customize the design? Does the word "theming" make you feel a bit panicked? Or, are you an expert Drupal developer who thinks up improvements to the PHPTemplate module in your sleep?
If so, please come to our next Drupal Meetup at the Cary West Regional Library. Our presenter will be Coalmarch Graphic Designer Sheena Donnelly.

Galax, Virginia Drupal Camp, first weekend of January
I just arranged to spend the weekend up at Jim Tarvid's house (just across the Virginia/NC border) to work on my Drupal site. Last July I went from zero to a basic website and received a good foundation of skills - over the course of a weekend. Similar weekend trainings cost thousands and don't give you such close attention. Jim's generous enough that he barely covers his expenses and gives away a lot of his time. If you're interested in joining us, contact Jim.
Anyone interested in a Charlotte area meetup?
Are there any Drupaleers in or around the Charlotte area that would be interested in starting a regular (monthly?) meet-up?

Theme for Umich Habitat for Humanity page
Hello A2Drupal!
I currently help the UM student chapter of Habitat for Humanity by providing support for their website (http://umhabitat.org). I set up a drupal cms for the group, and the site functions well for their purposes. Unfortunately, I have very little artistic ability, and even less graphic design sense. Therefore, the site uses the standard Drupal theme. Would anyone in this group know a design firm (or individual) who may be willing to donate their time to develop a theme for the site? Please feel free to email me at eric.roeder@gmail.com. Thanks for your help!

Seeking Triad Drupal users and devs
My company's exploring Drupal for use as our core content management platform and app development framework (we're a news media company). I'm trying to track down local Drupal users and hacks that we can bounce ideas off and learn from. Is there anyone in the NC Triad area that would be willing to serve as a Drupal consultant, whether formally or in- (depending on level of expertise)?

Welcome
Not exactly sure what everyone would want to see here, so I am open to suggestions.
My main goal is to try and find more drupal users in North Carolina so that the possibility of collaboration of projects is good. Everyone can't always do everything alone, sometimes you do need some help in some way shape or form.
For people that are just starting out with Drupal and would like a good place to start, then you really should check out the Drupal Dojo group. It is geared for both total newbies as well as the experienced Drupal users.
