Red Hat

Events happening in the community are now at Drupal community events on www.drupal.org.
This group should probably have more organizers. See documentation on this recommendation.

Currently, there is a severe lack of documentation and discussion around using Drupal on Red Hat Linux, CentOS, and Oracle Linux.

Download and Install latest drupal v8

New to the forum and installing drupal. I have been tasked with installing the latest version of Drupal from within RHEL. However every time I download Drupal from within RHEL, i am only provided Drupal v7.

I am looking to have Drupal 8 installed. Our environment has been affected by a exploit in Drupal 7: Module remote code execution.

Seeking advice, potential fixes and installation tutorial if available. Thanks

Core: "Drupal 8 requires PHP 5.3.10 starting March 15"

Something to take note of for Red Hat administrators. The currently supported version of PHP in Red Hat will not be supported by Drupal 8. I think RHEL 7 and Drupal 8 are now in a race to see which comes out first.

PHP-FPM will be added to RHEL 6.4

Finally, after a long time watching an issue to get PHP-FPM supported in RHEL, it's finally coming true!

Upgrading Server to MySQL 5.1.x from 5.0.x

Hi Folks,

I lease a dedicated server running CentOS 5.7 with MySQL 5.0.x. I have about 20 Drupal sites installed: 1 D5, 15 D6, and 5 D7.

I need to upgrade my server to run MySQL 5.1.x in order to install CiviCRM 4.1 on one of the D7 sites. I've set up a test server on a VPS which is running MySQL 5.1.x. I have moved over a few of the sites for testing. Things seem okay, but I'm just "clicking around." What should I be looking for or in what ways can I test to see if there are any problems.

Using RHEL 6

Anyone out there using RHEL 6 on their production Drupal sites? I haven't had a chance to set this up with my clients.

I've posted a blog entry on how I see RHEL 6 with it's new batch of software - http://erikwebb.net/blog/drupal-rhel-6-it-ready

RHEL 5.6 ships with PHP 5.3 also

Source - http://press.redhat.com/2011/01/13/red-hat-enterprise-linux-5-6-now-avai...

Just as a note to everyone, the recently shipped RHEL 5.6 breaks a usual release pattern of not upgrading software packages across major versions within a release. Now, PHP 5.3 will be included once your systems are updated to RHEL 5.6. This was done to ensure applications have little difficulty when upgrading to RHEL 6 this year.

Two-part install blog post with lots of screen shots and code samples

I notice this is a 'new' group and the only reference it has is to an old, incomplete article from April 2009. I wrote a couple of succinct blog posts in Nov. 2009 when I was getting into Drupal and setting up a server...
