The Buffalo or Syracuse dweller, and anyone else so-inclined or so-located is warmly welcomed. This group is only just forming, but its purpose is to gather local users together for support, networking, and education.
I would very much like to see occasional meetups/workshops (DrupalCamps?) occur from time to time, but that's something to discuss once we get some interested people together. I'm wondering how many people on this group (if anyone) might be looking for freelance or project work?
My agency is looking right now for resources we can call on when our workload is heavy or when the issue is outside my areas of competence. I'm sure that as Drupal catches on in this region, there will be others in a similar position. So I was thinking that maybe local people who have bandwidth for or interest in freelance work could post here and describe what they think they could take on (or what they're interested in working on).

I'm located in Buffalo, and I understand that this group is intended to meet in Rochester exclusively, but I'm up for the drive if there's interest. Anybody else?

A question was recently posted in the Introductions thread about why this group is called Rochester, NY but refers to itself as being a group for Western NY. Why not call it the WNY Group?
