bristol skill swap ideas

Following on from this comment, I'd like to get some comments both from people requesting a talk (or whatever) or people committing to do one on a given topic.

We can worry about where and when later. It would be in addition to the regular informal meetups in the pub.

I've posted a few notes like this before and not had a particularly good response, but more and more the Bristol Drupallers I speak to are asking when 'something useful', so fingers crossed for this time!

It's that time again

Start:
2012-05-02 18:00 Europe/London

First Wednesday of the month => Bristol Drupal meet up.

I know some of you won't know until the last minute but please could you either signup to the event here or drop me a line if you will be coming. There was talk of relocating to a venue with a large space available, but I don't think we should bother unless we're sure we'll get the turn out of the last week.

Maybe we can make a better job of optimally re-arranging the tables this time? We are techies after all!

2012-02-01 18:00 Europe/London

hi everyone, sorry for not posting anything sooner. we were discussing a change of venue but it's a bit late now.

does everyone fancy going to the elephant again? we can talk about when/if to try another place while we are there.

if anyone new is reading this. although the start time is set to 6pm, it's totally informal (we don't even have a screen) so feel free to drop in later if you can't make it for 6, we're normally there for a few hours

Hi
I'm looking for some help tidying up my Drupal site, I've understood some of the concepts and it's going ok, but I'd like to be able to sit down with someone and work through a list of questions. Ideally paying on an adhoc basis initially and then on a firmer arrangement once the site has been tidied up.

We are based near Exeter, Devon.

Hope this is clear and welcome any questions.

After work next Wednesday (11th Jan) at the Elephant. I think this might clash with something else for the people in Wales but we can switch back to our first Wednesday of the month rule for the rest of the year.

Bristol meetups (again)

I'm twiddling my thumbs waiting for our American office to wake up - so I thought I'd write yet another post on here about the Bristol meetups.

Thanks everyone for coming yesterday, great to see you all. I think we had 12 or 13 people turn up, and it's nice we're regularly seeing 10+

I won't put an Event up for next year yet. But I don't think we'll get a good turn out if we stick to the first Wednesday rule, as that's the second day back to work. Shall we push it back a week? How would that work for everyone?

bristol xmas meetup

Start:
2011-12-07 18:00 Europe/London

It was pretty quiet on my previous thread about what presentations everyone would like to see at the xmas meetup.

Pipe up on this thread if you'd like to see anything. I was keen on seeing Rupert's Commerce one and am still prepared to do something on panels if you're interested (in fact, I'm not sure if you are around, or reading this Marcus - but aren't you the super duper panels expert?)

xmas bristol drupal meet up - topic suggestions please

we had another good meet up at the elephant yesterday evening. nice to see everyone

Personally, I learnt that responsive design doesn't have to cause the performance issues I've been having. And Commerce is complete enough to use on our next site requiring a payment solution. I should apologise for a JavaScript/Node.JS outburst to the chap from the Uni (sorry, I've got a blank on your name at the moment) who left shortly after talking to me - related? :o)

Drupal Dev Freelance Project

Hello everyone, nice to meet you all!

I'm helping out a new startup who want to build a web app, and we'll need a couple of custom modules to provide some of the functionality.

The first one involves lots of lovely SQL queries and data stuff (with a nod to scaleability), and the second involves facebook integration.

If you have experience with either (or both!) of these, or would like a bit more info then get in touch - harry@creation-marketing.co.uk

Thanks,

Harry
