Why are the "Administration Theme" settings are located in "Administer -> Site Configuration" area, rather than with all of the other theme settings in "Administer -> Site Building -> Themes".

The only unique configuration option that is in the "Administration Theme" menu is the "Use admin. theme for content editing" checkbox -- and this could simply be moved to the bottom of the list of themes in the "Administer -> Site Building -> Themes" menu. It seems unnecessary for this single option to have it's own section in the administration menu.

I'd like to introduce you to an experimental project of mine called Drupal Code Search.

Drupal Code Search lets you search source code from thousands of Drupal modules and themes, use regular expressions, filter results by version, and more.

The goal of this project is to help themers and module developers find code examples faster and easier than before. Results are retrieved using the Code Search Data API.

We are working on a high school newspaper. We are wondering if anyone will share their theme for their front page. We won't just change the images and titles and use it ourselves. We just want a starting point. We plan to use panels and 4 views. (one for each section), we are just looking for example html to use as a starting point. JICNY, a non-profit organization dedicated to creating a community for international jews coming to New York City, is porting its website (jicny.com) to drupal using civicrm. Most of the site is ported, however there are several HTML pages that need to be layed out to the roopletheme. Also need a gallery, some theming tweaks, help with backup, security, etc.

Looking for local (NYC area) assistance with:
HTLM coding of 7-10 pages (javascript snippets)
CSS tweaks to theme
comfort with PHP snippets
setup gallery with slide show/lightbox

I thought I'd post a couple of quick links to some of the development resources mentioned by me and others last night at the PDXDUG meeting. (Andrew, maybe you can add a link to the module metrics you were talking about).

As we said last night, don't play on your production site; create a dev/sandbox copy where you can wipe everything out if it gets gnarly (and maybe this is obvious, but make sure you're using a different database that the main site too!).

I have a friend in Long Beach that is in the middle of development of a fairly large real estate website. He is in need of theming help over the next four weeks starting immediately. There is enough work to keep at least one person busy full time for those four weeks. Let me know if you are interested in helping and I will get you in touch. Mansueto Ventures (publishers of Inc.com, IncBizNet.com, FastCompany.com, FastCompany.tv) is looking for a part-time XHTML/CSS-developer-slash-Drupal-themer to join our team on a temp-to-perm basis.

We launched IncBizNet.com and FastCompany.com on Drupal recently, and are currently working on a March 3rd launch of our new video site, FastCompany.tv (run by Robert Scoble, who just recently joined our staff).

After walkah's presentation on Drupal 6 Themeing, I ported and contributed a theme to drupal.org. Some really great information that inspired me to contribute a new theme. I did a relatively detailed write up in the showcase forums.
