I recently set up a contact page on my site. I put a link on my menu bar for the contact form by following these steps:
1.Go to Structure > Menus
2.Click "list links" for the Navigation menu
3.Click "edit" for the menu item "Contact"
4.Select the "enable" checkbox
5.Change the "Parent link" to "Main menu"
I'd like a module that would allow administrators to more intuitively determine block placement, both on the page and throughout the site, using the core Drupal block system. This is what I'm thinking of:
o A button on every page should allow administrators to edit the blocks <i>for that page</i>. o When not administering blocks, + Quick links (ajax) should be displayed on each block for # hiding from this page # hiding from all pages with path … # configuring the block
On a site with panels and views you have the option to create a display as a block or a pane.
What are the pros and cons? As far as I can see a block is more flexible than a pane and more universal, what was the reason for creating a pane display?
We've got a couple of issues which we're trying to figure out;
- We placed the user login block sitewide when logged in (obviously!) and it said the standard 'the block doesn't display when on this page'. When we log out we can then see the block ok. The problem is that we don't want it there anymore and we can't remove it. Obviously we can't remove it with 'context editor' as it doesn't display when logged in. We've also tried configuring the block so it doesn't display on any page/user can't see it and it hasn't worked... Any ideas asides from deleting it?
In the past few days I've discovered that articles on my OP site are turning into blocks.
In fact, just to go to blocks causes a memory error.
Anyone know why this happens? Is there a way to delete them from the blocks page?
And, how to stop this from happening?
Any thots would be appreciated.
I would like to just style all my view blocks a certain way how can I do that? Any advice

I am trying to build a custom theme for my much discussed photo workshop site using the 960 Grid base theme. I get it running all right, except one small problem. None of my blocks are displaying. In their place I get "1" or "0". The regions seem to work right, properly sized, etc., but the blocks aren't showing.
Here is my theme.info file:
name = Vandivier
description = 960 Grid Subtheme
version = VERSION
core = 6.x
base theme = ninesixty
engine = phptemplate
stylesheets[all] = reset.css
stylesheets[all] = 960.css
stylesheets[all] = styles.css

There are ways to organize a page before it gets rendered to the screen. The purpose of this presentation is to show what Drupal does out of the box (blocks/regions) and then show 2 alternatives that provide more flexibility (context & panels). We will identify the strengths and weaknesses of each and provide examples for situations where one is more suited than the other.Read more
