How to Segment Blog Personas

I want to maintain at least two different personas on my Drupal-based blog: (1) Professional (2) Personal. Naturally, each would have its own set of blog entries that generally would not intersect, although they might sometimes.

My question is: What is the best way to organize and display each of these personas as its own blog, and still be able to show them together in one blog stream when I want to?

turning on unfiltered html posts for drupal bloggers

I'm using CCK (Acquia Drupal) and usually post as admin and haven't noticed this issue, but other members who are contributing blog posts (and other content via cck fields) aren't given the option to change from filtered html to unfiltered html. Basically I need to be able to allow my contributors the ability to add embed video tags, etc.

Also related to this, can you default a cck field to be only unfiltered html. I'd like to add a field on another node type that is always unfiltered html.

How to use i18n for menu link to "blog" (D6)

I am running a trilingual blog on a charity website on Drupal6 + i18n module but can't configure the primary link to the blog to show up in the choosen language only.

Internationlisation is working like charme for the blog:
www.artandaid.org/en/blog/1 => blog shows up in English
www.artandaid.org/de/blog/1 => blog shows up in German
www.artandaid.org/blog/1 => blog shows in the users language
Wonderful!

Now I would like to add two links to the primaries

Our Blog => en/blog/1
Unser Blog => de/blog/1

Adding an external blog feed alongside native Drupal blogs?

Hi everyone,

I've been banging my head a little bit trying to get this sorted. Basically, I want members of my drupal site to have their own personal blogs and a section where they can read other members posts. This is obviously no problem if they're all using drupal blogs on my site.

However, many of the members already have their own blogs. It would be great if instead of submitting blog entries on my site, they could just add the url of their Blog feed and entries would automagically appear alongside other members entries.

I have a small project which should be an easy one for a seasoned Drupal developer. Need a small site built and possibly themed (I can deliver crisp clean markup and stylesheet, or the PSDs if you'd rather work from scratch). The design is simple and the functionality has been designed around Drupal to keep it simple and meet an aggressive timeline.

Content types include articles, blog posts with user comment, and Youtube embedded videos. Minimal workflow (authors can publish directly, no editing or staging needed).

Great tool for letting children blog!

I've just installed Drupal in a XO laptop and I'm amazed with how fast it runs!! I'm really glad and I'm seriously thinking this could be a great tool for blogging from the XO laptops.

The first challenges I find:
- Creating an installer to put it easily in the XOs.
- Developing a plugin for publishing local content. I mean, Drupal will be installed in all XO laptops, where children will be able to write their own posts. Then, it would be good to publish these posts in a centralized Drupal. Isn't there a module already developed for this?

Regards,
Pablo

After walkah's presentation on Drupal 6 Themeing, I ported and contributed a theme to drupal.org. Some really great information that inspired me to contribute a new theme. I did a relatively detailed write up in the showcase forums.

Thanks James, for the great presentation and answering the question we all had.
