Coder | Berkeley Energy Resources Collaborative

I'm a student at Berkeley and a researcher at LBL's Environmental Energy Technologies Division (EETD), and through the student group Berkeley Energy and Resources Collaborative (BERC) I have been working to connect the researchers in EETD with UCB's students. One component of the program, known as Berkeley Energy Connections, will be a Drupal website that will match students with researchers' ideas. This match-up function may involve developing a custom module. The concept is that there are many ideas that the experts at the lab have, but for many different reasons cannot act upon them.

We want your thoughts on Drupal and e-commerce! (quick survey)

Hey all! We're conducting a 13-question survey to better understand what users of Drupal find lacking in several areas, including themes, e-commerce, and support. The responses will be used for data in a series of free reports for the community, and also to help us create products/services that better serve your needs. Personal/contact information is optional. We'll also be sharing the (anonymized) results so they can benefit everyone. Thanks!

Drupal and Education at the Drupalcon'08 in Szeged

I just submitted a session/BoF/panel proposal for DrupalCon in Szeged suggesting ways of helping Drupal make greater inroads in the education sector (including research): http://szeged2008.drupalcon.org/sessions/what-does-education-sector-need.... Any feedback is appreciated.

I thought I'd start a thread where we could discuss what else the Drupal in Education/Drupal in Academia and Research crowd can do in Szeged. Please post comments with suggestions/ideas for other sessions, BoFs, or just let each other know who's coming.

Non-Drupal inspirations for research and learning

I've just come across the fantastic software for social bookmarking for academics Connotea (see http://www.connotea.org) and started thinking about the many great projects out there which we could either learn from or integrate into Drupal. Of course, there are some obvious candidates such as Moodle, Elgg, Gallery2 that we all know about. But what about services such as Shelfari or LibraryThing? So I thought I'd start a thread where we could talk about what others are doing and how we can benefit from their hard work.

Research and academia showcase

Hello everyone, I thought it would be best to start with an overview of all the different academic and research sites where Drupal is either being used or is about to be used. Please, indicate in your post which modules you found essential to provide functionality specific to the academic/research needs of your site.

Note: If you have more than one site, please, add it into separate comments.
