Tattler - Install error out

Hey all,

I've been using Aegir since 4.0 alpha2 came out and have a couple issues with install profiles.

I first noticed came across this error when trying to create a quick install profile using http://www.lullabot.com/articles/5-step-drupal-distributions .

Now I get basically the same errors when using tattler http://tattlerapp.com/download . It verify's alright but bombs out on the install.

I tired renaming the tattler.profile file to tattler_install.profile (like suggested in the FAQ) and renamed the profile folder as well. (I also changed anything in the profile file that I though might have needed to be change) and it still does work.

Wedding Drupal Install Profile

I've started a Wedding site install profile (http://drupal.org/project/wedding) and would like to get some input on what types of features should be included so that it can be usable "out of the box" but not overloaded or bloated.

Install Profile feature/wish list

I'd like to brainstorm some of the typical features that would make sense to include on an "out of the box" lodge web site:

  • WYSIWYG editor
  • IMCE
  • Calendar
  • News page
  • Officer profiles
  • Photo galleries
  • Private OG for committees and other internal discussion groups
  • Access control for members-only content / downloads
  • Roles for members, officers, content editors
  • Contact form
  • Path/Pathauto
  • Stock top-level pages & primary links ("About/History/FAQ/Contact")

Drupal Church Feature Sets

It seems the variety of options to create some sort of distro or feature set or pattern or template or whatever are broad, but one thing that is united under all of them is the need to collect a list of what sort of features should be included in this. So what features do you think every or most church websites should have. Let's stay away from modules, how it would be accomplished.

This is a question about defining the problem. We can figure out how to solve it later.

A framework for exporting/importing data - improvement to install profile API

The install profile API became the most important helper for building Drupal profiles. It provides a library of create functions that supports the most important Drupal modules and provisions a place for contributing more create functions.

Problems:

  • In the Drupal 5 version, install profile API contains a wizard that generates install profile stubs and defines export functions for some of the API's install functionality, in Drupal 6 there is no successor for install profile wizard yet.

Install profile for Community sites – any good solutions that can be used for environmental site?

We are beginning the development of a green building community site and we are wondering if there are any good general install profiles that cover many of the aspects of a good community site. We are eager to explore how by using a possible install profile or adapting an existing community site can expedite the launch of our site. We are open to work with other end-users in order to accommodate any development that may be needed.

Thank you,
Jeff

Install profile for Newspapers – any further along?

We are beginning the development of a green building news portal and we are wondering if there have been any further advancements towards creating an install profile that covers many of the aspects of a good newspaper site. We are game to work with other end-users and a development team to arrive at this solution. What about someone who has a decent newspaper site that can have a generic version created to accommodate practically any type of focus topic? Am I over simplifying the task?

Thank you,
Jeff

Install profiles for NGOs / charities

It has been mentioned in a previous thread that we could use this group (Drupal for Good) to create an install profile specific for NGOs and Charities.

I am willing to volunteer to contribute code to this project. However, it is unclear what is required. This topic is to discuss what features, modules, etc. would be specifically required by an average charity or non-profit organisation.

I think there is a beginning of an install profile for churches, but again, what does a church web site need that all churches web site would need?

My install profile project

Hiya,

I guess this group is here to talk about install profile projects so here is a post about mine.

I am working on creating an install profile for the Industrial Workers of the World, which is a union I am a member of. Currently the main site there runs drupal but most of the branch sites are hand-coded HTML with various degrees of skill, design etc. I think the Starbucks Worker's Union probably has the nicest site in the union.
