Drupaltherapy gets married with Feed API

Drupaltherapy has been on the back burner for a good couple of months while I prepared to get hitched on September 12, 2009. It was a nice affair, held at an outdoor education and retreat center equipped with canoes, kayaks, archery, zip lines, kickball fields, square dances, and a whole bunch of other things that make weekend weddings fun for family and friends.

What is making us very happy right now is our use of Drupal as the platform for our wedding website and the use of some specific modules that are doing some cool things for us, too.

Process Question: Flickr API feed photos & exif data to FeedAPI -> ??? -> Photo Blog!

Not sure if this is the right place to post this as this has a lot to do with Flickr's API, but hopefully someone can help and may be I can help some others too.

Basically, I'm trying to streamline a process, so I can tag and comment of my photos in Picasa, upload to Flickr, have them pulled back down onto my Drupal blog, then I pick some and group them together into a blog entry.

This is how far I've gotten:

  • Installed emfield, FeedAPI, FeedAPI mapper, imageapi, imagecache
  • set up feed content type and photoblog content type

Upload images into my flickr account

    Hi Guys,

I am using upload module as well as emfield module but I am not being able to integrate them to solve my purpose. I would like to upload all the images that users upload to my site into my [or optionally their own flickr accounts]. The simple reason behind this is that i do not have a dedicated image server which means i would ideally want every image to be served from my flickr account.

Also, optionally the user may want to upload this directly to his flickr account [which is not an issue for me, coz my lookout is to serve these images from flickr and not my own site].

Good examples of image and image gallery integration? modules, photo sharing service apps, etc?

Hey fellow Drupal for Good members, I'm looking for advice on photo integration.

Modules we've been playing around with make it easy to create simple thumbnail galleries and display images in a lightbox when selected, but they don't facilitate captions with individual photos when they're displayed as thumbnails or in the lightbox.

Has anyone seen any good examples they can point to?

    Embedded Media Import

Embedded Media Field now ships with Embedded Media Import, for importing photosets, playlists, and the like. If you install that module, admins will have the ability to import photosets from Flickr as individual nodes. Just make sure the 'Allow import' checkbox on the content type (which must have a field defined with Embedded Media Field) is checked, proper permissions are given to editors, and look at the settings on the new tab at /admin/content/emfield/import.

    Neighborhood CCK

The newly released Neighborhood CCK module will take the place of Video CCK, replacing that module and expanding it with Video Neighborhood, Image Neighborhood, and the upcoming Audio Neighborhood.
