How to do this - Organic Groups connecting to each other

I am trying to create groups of common interest for my site using OG and want members communicating within a group (which OG alredy does) and also one group communicating (or sharing data) with other group. More like Connections concept in linked in. There it is between users but here I would like to have one OG getting linked with another. One group sending a request to another to include it in its network and the othe group acepting it. Once connected they can share data or schedule events (like meeting) with each other. Any events shared can be moderated by both the groups.

Member of Group condition not working for new nodes.

I took a look through the rules group, but wasn't able to find anything relevant to my question. . .

I'm trying to make a rule to publish content if the user has the role "editor" for and is the member of the group the content is in.

It works fine when the user is editing a piece of content (node), but when creating a new piece of content, the "member of group" part of the test fails. From the code in "og.rules.inc", it looks like the test is failing because the node doesn't have a node id yet, but the content should know what groups it's in before that, right?

Issue Importing Content Into om_project

I'm trying to import some 'project' content into Drupal using Node Import. I have about 3,000 projects that need to be added as om_project content types, and this was the method described by Kevin to get it done.

Permissions again :-(

I'm still having massively annoying permissions issues here in Boston. Conflicts between OG's "Organic Groups Access Control", CCK's "Content Permissions", and Workflow's "Workflow Access" permissions are rampant. (Posting to Boston too for compassion and insight.)

Modules recommendations/sanity check for edu. group site

Hi,

I am building a Drupal 6 website for my amateur radio emergency service club. One of our key missions is training (educating) others, so I am trying to build a useful online resource for our members, and others who visit our site. I have built several stand alone drupal sites, before but am now branching out into group sites. In this case we have several groups linked by location (e.g. a specific city) or interest. I need advice in planning a few key features.

Contractor - Collaborative Journalism Site | EastBay Media

Employment type:
Contract
Telecommute:
Allowed

EastBay Media is looking for local, experienced Drupalers to assist in client site development under a fixed contract. The site will have a strong user collaboration component. Experience with using OG, Workflow, Actions, Views, etc. to put nodes through the wringer before publication is required. Experience with mapping is helpful, too.

The project is on a short-ish timeframe, so we could use some extra hands. Those hands should be able to communicate well and work independently.

Interested parties can contact us at drupaljob@eastbaymedia.com.

Bounty to fix exposed filter block in panel3 pages and organic group tabs for D6

I would like to see exposed filter block in panels pages using Views2 get fixed for Drupal 6.

I am willing to chip in to make it happen. ($75). If there is a developer who could do this and possibly use chipin to gather more support.

Currently exposed filter block works if
1. no panels
2. no views as tabs in organic group

but I would like to have it work in those two areas

  1. as tabs in an organic group
  2. with panels

So in essence, they should redirect to the correct page.

  1. exposed filter block in a view with path url node/%/foo and it is a tab

Create a view

Converting a taxonomy to a group?

I've just installed the Organic Groups module to our site at http://opensourceschools.org.uk (well, to the dev. copy at the moment...) and would love to use this to provide tailored content to school leaders, teachers, techies etc who form distinct segments of our growing community. Hitherto, I've used a taxonomy to tag content for these groups - is there any way to move the tagged content into the new groups automatically, or do I have to work my way through the archive?

Comprehensive list of Content access modules and how to enable them to work together

I created a list of content permission modules that I have encountered with their weights on my system.

  1. Can we create a comprehensive list?
  2. How can they work together or should they. From your experience, what has been the worst and best combinations ?
  3. what effect does module weight have on implementation of access? is it true that if access is already granted, it will not be restricted by another module that comes into play later?

Weight/ Name/ Version/ Brief description

0 Content Permissions 6.x-2.x-dev Set field-level permissions for CCK fields.

OG for Local Government sites?

The Mission Statement of the Local Government group suggests using Organic Groups for a local government site, citing the ability for people to run their own sections. How would you set OG up for this? Would all posts be Public, and "membership" in a Group (department) only be necessary for maintainers?

I guess you could use Roles to allow non-Admin folks to join a departmental Group just for the OG Notification features.
