forum

A new project.

I think we all know that the built in Drupal forum is lacking, and currently it is a roadblock for many site developers, myself included. So in the community spirit I am inviting anyone and everyone to contribute ideas, theories, time, code, anything. it is way more than anyone can handle alone, but with colaboration it can be done.
Currently I named it "Colloquium", but feel free to suggest names :)

I am going to start a few other topics for the purpose of brainstorming, and will post them here.

I am with little success, or to express myself more correct - in very time consuming way building couple communities with Drupal 7. The centerpiece of them has to be some kind of a forum.

If anyone's interested, I've started up a website dedicated to OpenScholar at www.oscholar.info.

There's not much content there yet, but there is a forum and wiki all set up and ready to go.

As a new OpenScholar developer, I feel lost in the wild (especially since the official OS documentation is very thin). I'm looking forward to getting help (and helping others) regarding OpenScholar configuration, administration, development, etc.

利用 Drupal Forum / Advanced_Forum 模块实现的论坛，默认的回复是 threaded comments 的形式，即针对回复的回复是嵌套的，下级的回复显示的时候会比上一级缩进一部分；在 结构->内容类型->论坛主题 设置页面，评论设置 设置标签下，取消勾选 主题化 一项，即可实现 flat comments 的形式，不同级的回复不会缩进，都会按照时间顺序对齐显示，但是嵌套关系仍然存在，删除上级回复时下级回复仍然会被删除，使用 flatcomments 模块 http://drupal.org/project/flatcomments (没有单独配置项) 的同时取消勾选上面提到的选项，即可实现所有回复都是针对主题的，按照时间顺序对齐显示，不用担心关联删除。

如果觉得这样看不出回复针对的回复，可考虑使用 quote http://drupal.org/project/quote 模块。

这样更像一些我们熟悉的国内论坛形式。

Tengo una duda con respecto a la funcionalidad de dos caracteristicas del modulo Forum en Drupal 7:

  Ya que en amos casos puede contener foros.

Al momento de crear un 'topic forum' en la lista desplegable me muestra los 'container' lo cual puede crear confusión al momento de crear el contenido.

Struggling with permissions and comments on forums and forum topics.

I've implemented RP Forums (http://www.richardpeacock.com/blog/2010/10/rp-forum-drupal-6-module) on a Drupal 6 website. It has many of the features that are required for this project, but I noticed the navigation on it is terrible. Once I navigate from the main Forum page, there isn't a link to easily get back to the main Forum page.

So I was looking to setup breadcrumbs on this Forum, which should solve the problem. However, I'm not sure how to get the breadcrumb feature on here.

Any ideas or suggestions?

Hi everyone,

Have a task to build a community site. To put simply: 50% of features will be forum, community faq with voting, the other 50% will include e-zine, maybe some kind o a shop, link directory, user rating and etc, not much social networking stuff.
I am leaning to Commons installation, but it is not exactly what I want to start with.

I would like to add a forum to each group. Is that possible? I know that discussions are already there but is it possible to add a forum as such?
