Drupal After Dark

We've planned a site visit to American Film Institute on March 5, 2012, at 2:30pm, to determine if it will work as the venue for the free Drupal Design Camp conference we're planning for May, 2012. In the tradition of several other site visits that we've gone on, this visit is open to anyone and is an excellent opportunity for anyone interested in starting to help organize this event.

Several of us are meeting beforehand at Benno's, the venue of last year's LA Drupal Governance meetup and the Hollywood Drupal meetups. We will be leaving Benno's promptly at 2pm. You are welcome to meet us no later than 2pm at Benno's (where parking is free for 2 hours) or at 2:30pm on the AFI campus.

This month we have a spectacular lineup of topics and presentations centered around Drupal Themeing plus the issues and solutions surrounding deployment of Drupal in a changing production environment.

After hours: After the meetup, it is typical for many of us to meet at a local restaurant or pub for additional Drupal networking. We will post the venue info prior to the meetup; if you have a suggestion, please leave a comment.

The High Performance Drupal meetup now meets on the 1st Tuesday of the month. We're meeting again on March 6, 2012 and will be at Filter Digital, a digital solutions agency in Culver City located just two blocks from Media Temple, a familiar venue of Drupal meetups on the Westside.

LA Drupal meetups follow a basic format and start off with Drupal news and announcements, local job announcements, raffle prizes and full-length presentations. As always, we'll also have community Q&A, during which time anyone in attendance can ask questions, divine answers from the crowd and give brief, 5-10 minute-long presentations known as lightning talks.

We'll finish off the night with more networking and a Drupal After Dark at 9:30pm.

About High Performance Drupal

What is the High Performance Drupal meetup about? The "high performance" part of the name is a catch-all to describe Drupal scalability, performance and benchmarking but we also discuss hosting, infrastructure, deployment, monitoring and highly repeatable processes. Also, this meetup has been held at coffeeshops in the past and the addition of caffeine makes our meetings feel as if they go faster and faster as the night goes on.

This is an LA Drupal meetup that focuses exclusively on advanced topics and there will not be a Users Helping Users portion to the evening.

Droplabs is happy to take part in Drupal Coworking Friday, a worldwide event spurred in part by the DrupalEasy Podcast #65 which featured Droplabs. We're in Downtown Los Angeles and are happy to host anyone in our local community or who is just passing through for some coworking on the last Friday of each month for some coworking. This event is free!

After a hiatus of several months, the Santa Barbara Drupal meetup is back! We are meeting in 2 weeks on Tuesday, Feb 28, 2011, at 6:00pm. The meeting is at a brand new location - the Santa Barbara Hackerspace, located at 158 Aero Camino, Suite A in Goleta. Join us!
