Map displaying all events
Now that g.d.o has been upgraded to D6 is there any chance of creating a location based map for all events? Something like the map in http://central.wordcamp.org/ but with some views filtering options would be very cool way of browsing events and quite easy to implement. We are starting to have so many Drupal events every year that it's difficult to keep track on what's going on. Map with filtering by event type and dates would be a huge improvement on usability.

Using webform and UC: uc_webform_productize -- an analysis
I'm currently looking at http://drupal.org/project/uc_webform_productize with a view to how it could be used for event registration.
My current use case is:
- one site
- several events
- registration is paid
- events have options such as how many days you want to attend, diet requirements. these affect price.
Mapping solutions for events
Hi there,
Recently I've been reviewing mapping modules for a NGO's Drupal6 website in Germany.
They want to be able to do something very simple: add an address (possibly via CCK Address or a simple text field) to a node (of type event, but selfmade, not via Event module). A map should show up in the full view of that node, having a marker at the place they specified.
Event Registration Specifications: What are your church's registration requirements?
I've created a wiki for the specifications: http://groups.drupal.org/node/20933
Let's keep the discussion going here.I'm trying to get some feed back from the community so that we can develop a solid event registration system for churches. What are your event registration needs? Below is a brain dump of specifications that I have come up with. Comments? Suggestions? Other requirements? Do you want to highlight the most important/least important things from the list for your church?
A meetup for drupal bangalore group
Why is this group so silent?
The only posts i see here are job related or promoting some event. So drupalers from bangalore it would be great if we can organize a meetup, so that we can actually network and get to know each other. People in this group who are actually from bangalore post your comment so that we can organize a meetup together.
RSVP module question
Hello all,
I'm using the RSVP module for a website I'm developing and I have a question regarding its use. It's Drupal 6.
I'm looking to have other users RSVP for my events (created using the Date & Calendar modules) without actually having to send out the invitations. Kind of like what the Signup module does.
Is there a way to do this with the RSVP module that I'm unaware of? It seems to me like you have to send out the invites first and then the only people who can do the RSVP are the invitees. But I want EVERYONE to be able to RSVP if they want without needing an invite.
Idea: Drupal Village at Hacking at Random
UPDATE: Now our space-time continuum has been corrected to allow visits to both DrupalCon and Har2009 this is the time to get yourself a ticket, double check that camping gear in the attic and let me know if you'll be able to come!
August 13-16 2009 Hacking at Random, the next iteration in a 20 year long tradition of open air hacking events will be held in Vierhouten, the Netherlands. These events are (self)organized every 4 years (2 years after every ccc-camp) and are every geeks dream in cool presentations, workshops and technology phun in every way imaginable. I will be there for sure and I post this to find out if there are more Drupal people interested in coming to this event and possibly help to organize a Community Village.
Depending on the number of volunteers and contributers I can imagine anything from just a bunch of small tents gathered around a Drupal Flag drinking beers in the sun to getting some bigger event tents to hold getting started sessions, (security) code sprints or a CMS hacking face off.
