October meetup in Bangkok?
I'm going to be living in Thailand from October 1 for a few months and am keen to meet other Drupalers. Is this the best place to conect with Drupalers in Thailand? Is there a regular meetup time or place? Are members of this group in Bangkok or elsewhere? I'll be in Bangkok initially but probably won't stay there for long.
DrupalCamp Bangkok Roundup
This is a short summary of DrupalCamp Bangkok on 24 May 2008.
Around 80 people shown up. 2 Tracks in the morning and expanded to 3 tracks in the afternoon.
Cost of Drupal development in Thailand
So my school is planning a complete web site overall, and we are planning on introducing a CMS for the first time. I'm trying to convince them to use Drupal, but it's an uphill battle. Some of the people on the web site redesign team have heard of Joomla and Mambo and how easy it is to find a relatively inexpensive developer here in Thailand.
Drupal Thailand Community
Drupal User Group in Thailand is setting up Drupal Thailand Community at http://drupal.in.th/. All you are welcome to join us. The great news is that Noel Noneck will visit us on Sep 30, 2007. Please see the schedule for more details.
Malaysianspace.com - a good idea, now gone; Proposal for Malaysian/SouthEastAsian Friendster Facebook MySpace
Wow long title and long list of tags :)
I checked out MalaysianSpace.com today and it was not renewed; it was owned by MENJ and it used the `Handshake' SNS software.
Whereas MuslimSpace.com uses the PHP-Fox software
Cyworld is advanced SNS (you can try the English version http://us.cyworld.com)
Habbo Hotel, Gaia Online, are for younger teens and kids
Cyworld/Habbo/Gaia earn money by `micro transactions' - kids pay around 30 cents - these SNS earned millions in profits
My proposal is:
Any Drupallers in Bangkok? Let's Meet Up!
Anybody other Drupallers out there in Bangkok? Let's meet up and talk Drupal development over a beer. Even if it's only two people, we have Drupal--and beer! Drop me an email and let's arrange a time to meet.
