It's community driven and has a lot of neat search features and categories. What does the new Drupal.org redesign have that rivals this?

I spent several months learning Joomla and built 75% percent of our new district site using Joomla when I happened across Drupal. I was hoping to get some feedback from the community from anybody who has used Joomla and now uses Drupal for their district site and why. I am working through the O'Reilly Drupal book right now and really like Drupal but I wanted to "test drive" both CMSs in hopes of making the best decision on what system will work best for our new district site. Please let me know your thoughts if you have used both CMSs and why you chose one over the other. Thanks!!

There are several good comparative reviews of Joomla and Drupal available on the internet. However, many of these reviews are out of date. None of the reviews I’ve seen rely on the opinions of broad selection of experienced professionals. Usually the reviews are the personal reflections of one well informed individual. Still, a lot can be gained by gathering the opinions of a large group of professionals, and seeing what patterns emerge.

Im working on a templating engine for drupal called Jtemplate. The basic idea is to allow joomla templates to run on Drupal (especially premium templates). The basic is done but now need more of the drupal templates to be rewritten for full integration.
Im looking for 1 - 2 people who would like to help me with its development, programmers only.
