Allow visitors to a site to make custom collections of photos...

What modules would I use to build a website that ...

  1. has 100s of photos that can only be added and modified by an admin [i.e. not the majority of users]
  2. allows users to find and group photos into their own custom made collections
  3. leave and come back to view their own collections as well as collections made my others
  4. edit their own collections
  5. then share their collections with others

Thanks,

facebook photostream

Hi,

Has anyone started working on or investigated a drupal module that would import images from facebook, using facebook connect.

I need one for a site I'm working on at the moment. I'll probably link it with imagefield and create nodes for each photo from a users facebook group.

If anyone has had a go at something similar or has an idea where to look please leave a reply..

Thanks

John

Storing photos with Drupal?

Hi there,

last year about this time I treated myself to a modern digital SLR. Now I am wondering: How do I organize the several 100s of photos that I made. Shouldn't I be able to do that with Drupal?

I envision that I burn several 100 of images to a DVD and that I have a Drupal install with will keep extra info (mainly tags) about the individual images as well as a pointer to the individual images on the DVD and some sort of key for which DVD the image is on.

Has anybody attempted somethign similar?

Good examples of image and image gallery integration? modules, photo sharing service apps, etc?

Hey fellow Drupal for Good members, I'm looking for advice on photo integration.

Modules we've been playing around with make it easy to create simple thumbnail galleries and display images in a lightbox when selected, but they don't facilitate captions with individual photos when they're displayed as thumbnails or in the lightbox.

Has anyone seen any good examples they can point to?

Here are my pictures from the meetup.. Not sure if others were planning on posting their photos. If you are, post what you think the tag should be so we could aggregate all the pics from the meetup.

Adobe Photoshop Express

Adobe just released Photoshop Express - a free online photo hosting service and editor. It looks really promising; this app really impressed me. It has tons of little features but all presented very well and simple, in my opinion. The application was done in Flex and offers these features that anyone can use for free.

  • Photo hosting (2GB)
  • Load/Browse photos from Facebook, PhotoBucket, and Picasa (Google)
  • Edit photos
  • Preview edits in live mode and with scenario example previews
  • Make 2D/3D slideshows (that rock!) and even share them (perfect for portfolios and photographers)
  • Full-screen mode (awesome!)
  • Share photos/galleries
  • Rate photos

FrOSCon Recap - Blog Posts and Photos

For those who visited this year's FrOSCon, those who wanted but couldn't and anyone else interested in this event, have a look at the links page of the froscon wiki, where you find links to photos and blog posts about FrOSCon 2007.

Thanks to the people who organized and helped making FrOSCon a really cool event, those who did presentations and those who attended. Special thanks to Robert Douglass for making the Drupal track possible this year.

New module: better quality of scaled images!

I just finished a simple but powerful module that really improves the quality of thumbnails and preview images. It adds a touch of sharpening and converts all derivative images to a color profile of your choice (such as sRGB). This is especially useful if you're using "professional" color profiles such as AdobeRGB since colors often look faded with those profiles if the browser isn't color profile aware.

I know people have been doing sharpening and stuff like this before in Drupal, but I don't think there is a module that does it for you, without patches... until now! All you need besides image.module is ImageMagick.

I haven't uploaded this to CVS yet, 'cause I was hoping that some of you would like to try it out and give me some feedback. Bad spelling, bad name, fundamental flaws? Good stuff? Let me know!

Update: Project added: image_enhanced_scaling
