File Management - Drupal 6

I am looking for a good module or group of modules that work well for file management.
I want for it to be super easy to use, somewhat like browser view of ftp, easy to upload files, rename, drag/drop into directories, create directories, etc.
I also want to be able to assign terms to / tag file uploads.

I found this post comparing a bunch of different solutions:

Just curious what people have used and/or what you can suggest.

thanks!

Finding the newest revision of a file

I've created and deployed a module for a client which aims to provide a stable link to the newest version of a file on a revisioned node. I'd actually forgotten about the code (which is why it hasn't been created as a project yet), but before I do so, does any other module available offer this functionality?

Here's the problem it aims to solve:

  • Create a node with an attached file. Say the file is called "file.txt".
  • Send out an email with a link to the file (http://example.com/files/file.txt). This could happen from a contrib module or manually from a user copying the link.

Hi guys,

Been trying to find a solution for this for weeks now and seriously could need some help pointing me in the right direction or at least tell me if this is possible or not.

File Manager for uploaded files

A module that will include capabilities to upload files (both images and documents via same interface), create/browse sub-directories, provide access to uploaded files by roles and integrate with new http://drupal.org/project/wysiwyg better than existing modules (IMCE, ImageAssist and others)

Building Pack-and-Go Functionality in Drupal

We have been using a smaller version of DrupalEd for our equally small state university program, basically taking out functionality that already exited in current systems and tweaking content types specific to pre-existing portfolio outcomes.

One thing that is missing, however, is pack-and-go functionality. We have a vendor our campus is looking at for a portfolio system (boo!), and that is the only feature they have which we don't have. This would be a great boon for us!
