New vs. Old sitemap comparison
I've been working on mapping out the current drupal.org website and the new design so that we can compare the pages and features between them. This will help implementers review and make sure all the bases are covered.
Mapping of the current drupal.org site is pretty much done and the new redesign partially completed. Once this is done I plan to put them side by side and match them up and then compare the Project & Issue module related components as well as review the widget list and make sure it's complete.
Poll on Semantic web code sprint
I've put together a Surveymonkey poll to make it easier to work out the exact nature of the meetup Stephane announced. If you are interested in this event, please take a minute to indicate your preferences.
Since I don't have a paying account I can't share the results out of the box, but I'll post a pdf report as a follow up.
"Code Tuesdays" @ Serious Coffee
Gord and I will start meeting every Tuesday night for some relatively advanced coding sessions -- with the exception of the last Tuesday of the month for the Drupal Social. Anyone is welcomed to join us at Serious Coffee on Yates Street (Corner of Broad) (http://www.viwedding.ca/serious/stores/Yates.html). For the immediate future we will be focusing on advanced theming topics but feel free to suggest any other topics that are of interest to you in the comments (Topics covered listed below the fold).
LA Code Sprint and Developer Workshop
I'd like to plan a workshop / code sprint within the next month in Los Angeles. I have a couple ideas on what we could tackle as a group, but am open to suggestions.
I'd like to accomplish two things in this session
1. Help mentor new developers teaching Drupal best practices and guidance in establishing/enhancing a good Drupal / LAMP development environments.
2. Create a new module from scratch - OR - fix a contrib module.
Help with Creating New Theme
Hi everyone,
Just proposing that we do something "productive" if it's of interest to anyone during our next Drupal social (May 26).
We have been using a combination of Layout Gala & Tripoli at northStudio. This has worked out very well for us and I have been very tempted to release the theme on Drupal.org. However, I have decided to hold off because I think that if we put our heads together we could create something that could dramatically change what most people think is possible with a theme.
Drupal Camp Codesprint - Fearless City

FearlessCity - an arts and events portal for the Downtown Eastside - will be the subject of Drupal Camp's codesprint. The event will be held from 6-9pm on Friday at Delicados - 510 West Hastings St.
The site is currently in alpha state and I'm hoping that we can move it to a solid beta state as part of Drupal Camp.
The codesprint will have two foci - the first (for coders) will be to add as many ways for mobile-generated content to reach the site as possible. The other (for themers) will be the creation of a mobile-friendly black-on-white theme for the site.
Two random draws will be held for a membership in the Vancouver Open Network Initiatives Cooperative, including a FreeTheNet.ca wifi mesh node, from amongst all of those participating.
Food will be provided (but you'll be responsible for your own drinks.)
Semantic Drupal FP7: Code sprint series
Last week at Drupalcon in Boston I realised that it's just not possible to apply for a development FP7 (the 7th Framework Program of the European Union) for Drupal. Things are going so fast that any plan would be obsolete before the project could get granted. That's why I think it would be the most interesting to do a proposal for a series of expert meetings throughout Europe that brings together people to discuss their implementation of the semantic web in Drupal, every time followed by a code sprint.
Drupal code sprint, workshops and conference in Australia
Hi everyone,
My name is Sammy Spets and i'm a Drupal contributor. Sounds like an AA intro doesn't it? :) Anyway, i've been lurking in the shadows of Drupal for just over two years and have just started contributing.
I was chatting to Kieran Lal, of CivicSpaceLabs fame, and he asked me,
02:27 <Amazon> so when are you going to throw the Drupal ecommerce conference?
You might be asking yourself two questions. Why was Kieran asking Sammy to run a conference? And why was Sammy awake at 02:27 talking to Kieran? Well, the second one is easy, Kieran is your all round good bloke trying to make Drupal part of everyone's life. The first question? I don't know the answer. :)
