Federation Protocol -- it ain't just Google servers anymore

Google Wave has been generating a lot of excitement among Drupal developers and there are very good reasons for this. Back in July 2009 or so a handful of Drupalistas, including myself, were privileged to play in Google's Wave Developer Sandbox. In early October 2009, a public preview server was opened to allow many more developers an opportunity to kick the tires on this new vehicle of communication. Most people checked it out for maybe an hour or so, liked what they saw and then moved on to other business.

VPSs & Dedicated servers

Been looking at some new options for VPS (virtual private server) and dedicated host providers.

I use linode now, which is great, but I'm looking for even more power/storage for a couple of sites. Currently looking at slicehost and hostican for VPS as well.

If I consolidated my clients on a singe system, I could go for a dedicated host.

So, how 'bout sharing some recommendations for VPS or dedicated?

also, know anyone local?

Thanks,

Roger

Q: Is it possible to run one Drupal install across different servers?

I currently am running about 10 domains all on one server using the multisite.

I am looking to scale out to a new server and was wondering if it is possible to somehow use the same Drupal information on this new server.

The best I have come up with is sharing the database and then copying all the Drupal files to the new server but it still bothers me because I will now have to update modules on both servers.

Is there anyway to sync the 2 servers or have one Drupal install or anything? Perhaps some type of XML-RPC solution?

Can anyone recommend a server setup?

Hi,

We need our www.projectstars.com site to run a lot faster than it is at the moment and wondered if anyone with experience could advise us on a good option for upgrading from our current virtual server. We're using memcache, block caching, and general drupal caching but as most of the site is dynamic I'm guessing that having a fast database server would help.
