Help! How to stop "backlinkers?"
Hi folks, I'm wondering if you have any suggestions because we're at the end of our rope! The web site I manage has been hit with a flood of new user registrations that are NOT people authentically trying to join our community. Since this started on October 1st, we have been getting approximately 10 new users per hour, 24-7. The IP addresses are almost always unique and the profile information is different each time, sometimes with spammy links, sometimes not.
Site move caused a change in taxonomy term tids; serp implications
In the process of converting a D5 site to D6 (with a major structural redesign), the tids of terms were changed (there was no way to prevent it - the changes were very broad).
Unfortunately, I just discovered that we had some serps for high-value keywords attached to some /taxonomy/term/tid pages, which now point to completely different terms.
I had an idea of how I might ameliorate this, and hoped the group might have some feedback:
1) Remove taxonomy/term/tid pages from search engine indexes, moving forward, replacing them with a custom URL

Comment Permalinks and Duplicate Content
I'm working on backporting the comment permalinks from Drupal 7 to Drupal 6 and am curious what the SEO folks think about the way it works.
The code was added to Drupal 7 in this commit as a result of this issue which is really about making the "recent comments" links work properly regardless of which page comments are on.
What this code does is:
- Create a new path - "comment/CID" which points to comment_permalink

SEO, Multisite, Robots - Help Needed
I am working on a site (http://www.car-rental-salt-lake-city.com/) and am having issues with getting the Google robots to search and index it. This is a multisite installation on Drupal 6 with the RobotsTxt module (http://drupal.org/project/robotstxt) installed. The robots text file is located here: http://www.car-rental-salt-lake-city.com/robots.txt. It has been submitted using the Google Webmaster Tools, but still has not been indexed after 4 weeks.
Anyone with experience have any ideas as to what may be going on?
Thanks!
