Yesterday was the 2nd Journée portes ouvertes Design Montréal. Thanks to Bluesponge, the friendly creative agency we're sharing an office space with, my partner at Whisky Echo Bravo (our new Drupal shop) and I were there! Like many design, architecture or fashion firms in town, Bluesponge opened their doors to anyone interested.

We've just signed up for the Boston Drupalcon in March and thought that it would be way more fun and environmentally friendly to drive down to the event from Ottawa, rather than fly. CO2 matters, even when going to a great open source event, plus it means that I won't need to stand in line to get my passport stamped (at least not this year).

Come join us for some Drupal coding fun in Montreal at L'Utopik today! On the agenda are testing i18n patches for core, and wrap-ups from attendees of DrupalCamp Toronto, and probably some other fun, hacky things. :)

UPDATE: L'Utopik's internet is down, so we're down a block at Cafe Vienne.

The address is 8655 St-Denis, very near the Cremazie metro.

Note that a small ($1) donation is required to use the facility. Thanks a lot for the space!

Ok, let's do a hack session at the end of July!

My good buddy chx is coming to visit from Hungary at the end of July (the 27th - 31st). Let's show him a good time by doing some kind of hacking session some place in town. Any ideas on good venues, and anyone interested in coming?

How I picture this working is all the Montréal Drupal developer-types all meet at some public place with their laptops and do some pair programming, bug fixing, etc. I don't have the money to sponsor folks, but maybe we could all chip in and get some pizzas, etc.

If you're interested, please DON'T sign up to this event below, but instead go click the "sign up" button on Omar's Montreal Drupal Developers Meetup event.

What do we want from drupal Montreal/Quebec?

Just wanted to announcec that I have established a group for Montreal area developers and themers.

Please go join, and lets start setting up some workshops and events.

First on my agenda is creating a clear and easy set of best practises for bilingual sites in drupal. Anyone else got some suggestions?

I am an anglo so if mes ami(e)s francophones want to translate my stuff and re-post feel free to go 'cochon' wild.

I am a little curious to see if we end up with two groups in quebec an anglo and a franco group, or if we can work out a way of working bilingually together.

Despite the sorry state of my written french I prefer the second option.
