Hey all - don't forget about the meetup this saturday at 13:00 at Obsidian.

Andre from Cerebra is giving a short workshop on CCK and how he used it to create a reviews website.

These events are a lot of fun, and are a great opportunity to learn from other drupalers, so don't miss out!

Hello guys.

I am going to be spending more time actively promoting Drupal in South Africa again, and to that end I am going to be organizing a DrupalCamp in johannesburg , mid july 2007.

This course is going to be significantly different from the previous course, due to the wealth of training materials having been produced since the previous course took place.

I would also like to organize 2 drupal meet ups. One in cape town, say around the 7th of June. And one in johannesburg on around the 7th of july.

Course outline, preparations and times.

Hello DrupalCampers.

Some things you need to know for the Drupal training next week.

Firstly, there are still a number of seats available for the course, if anyone is interested in joining us , please
contact me at adrian at bryght dot com.

What do I need to bring :

hardware
Your laptop, if you own one. If you do not own a laptop, a computer
will be made available to you, but we only have machines running linux
available.

software
Your favourite web browser. Preferably firefox. Internet Explorer is also suitable, but will likely get you ridiculed. (it's just the truth =) )

The price for DrupalCamp has been set at R2500 for the 5 evening course. That includes training materials and supper.

This is equal to about $420, which is not a lot considering that some of the other DrupalCamps are charging $900 per person for a single day. There are only 10 positions available per course, so please sign up if you intend on joining us.

Due to the bad exchange rate, and the general distrust of international outsourcing local clients are completely unwilling to pay people overseas to do any development, and the lack of (quality?) Drupal developers
makes the Drupal industry here stillborn.

I have several friends who are now doing freelance development, who areeither interested in, or have started doing Drupal development here in South Africa. All of these people I introduced / got interested in doing Drupal, and most of them just need a short introduction to get them up to speed.

So in the interest of getting my friends into the fold and improving the community, I have decided I want to run a short primer course on Drupal, for people who already know php / web development.
