connecting Drupal with InCopy / XML?
Hey guys,
I'm the editor of a Harvard weekly called The Voice. Our online edition is based on Drupal, check it out at www.theHvoice.com
Anyhow, I was wondering if anyone has any idea how to connect InCopy with Drupal - in other words, to export XML to Drupal,
and use Drupal as a true newsroom CMS?
Best,
M.
Testdrive new norwegian Drupal-based newspaper before launch
In a few weeks we are going to re-launch our newspaper, and the new site is based on Drupal5. We are still running the install on one of our desktop machines running Ubuntu, so the performance is not close to what we except from the final product.
It would be great if some of you could take a look at the site, and tell me your first impression.
XML country information
Hi folks, I found the countries_api module the other day as a replacement for the internal ubercart 'geocoding' functionality. I'm thinking after some more research that the location or address module would be a better use of time.
However, both of these modules are incomplete when it comes to full country code information. I'm thinking it'd be a good idea to abstract out the country information that currently exists in the .inc files. Discussion a few years back on some other mailing lists made an XML file similar to the following:
How best to implement a service with xml attributes
Hi,
I'm very new to drupal services and I've been trying to use the rest_server module and it seems to work pretty well for my purposes (just getting the data out rather than putting it in). I'm now getting to the point where I'd like to be able to add attributes to the xml elements in the response, but I'd like these to be extensible to other server modules if possible (so i'd like to do it in my service module rather than implement a new server.
Import content from XML product feed into Drupal nodes | freelance
We need an XML product feed converted into Drupal nodes. Each XML item will become a node. Some fields would be converted to taxonomy terms. Other fields will be CCK items.
It's XML, but not RSS/Atom.

create modular, extensible, API-based import and export framework for drupal
As I have worked with different content management and middleware solutions, one problem I have encountered numerous times, and that I think needs a better solution in drupal, is import and export of data and provision of web services. I think it would be good for drupal to create an import/export framework that would allow drupal developers to make re-usable, sharable import and export modules by implementing PHP objects to a few commmon interfaces and then adding their new import/export type into a central, common import/export module.
This is especially relevant for modern corporate newspapers that need to integrate content from different legacy systems, produce that content, then send it off to a number of different web publishing systems, and then also face the prospect of their systems changing if they are bought or sold. The framework as outlined in the design below could also be a means of implementing REST services (SOAP or XML-RPC would probably require another layer on top of this, though you probably could do it in this framework).
GRDDL, Drupal, & Microformats
Hey all,
How many of you know about GRDDL ('griddle')?
If you've seen the acronym around but haven't read the spec, then you are missing out.
In short, it's a W3C recommended way to post links to XSL stylesheets in HTML and XML documents.
Those stylesheets are specifically designed to produce RDF/XML from a target document.
So what, you might say.
Well: these GRDDL transformations can be done for an individual document; or an entire xml namespace / xmdp (microformat) profile.
Integrating DTP systems and Drupal
Greetings! I am a former newspaper lackey who is currently tasked with fleshing out the integration of DTP apps in our company (I work for a non-profit telco co-op) with our online presence both externally through our company website and internally on our intranet. Both of these environments are powered by Drupal exclusively.
