Theme Development

We are a graphic and web design company that is looking for a Freelance Drupal developer to assist us with module additions, configuration and a theme developed from our design.

• The hosting will be at Luna Pages
• We will keep the design within the limitations of the Drupal environment

I attended Open Web Vancouver session on Thursday, June 11, 2009 with Angie Byron. We were talking about the lack of good looking themes for Drupal. So Angie encouraged designers to create and submit themes to Drupal.org.

I asked about a checklist or guidelines to developing custom themes for Drupal. How do you know when your theme is complete? Some themes on Drupal.org say RC1, alpha, beta, dev. What do these versions mean if anything?

PLEASE NOTE: I edited this post to say telecommute not allowed because I was inundated with replies from overseas. Although most work can be done remotely, I am interested in collaborating with local developers who are available to attend meetings face-to-face. Just uploaded the iUI Drupal Theme that integrates websites on the iPhone quite nicely by utilizing the iUI User Interface Library. Would really appreciate some help on making it better.

Because of Drupal's special nature, there are alot of us hybrids in the community: designers with an interest in developing and developers with an interest in designing. I would like to create a place/discussions that dealt with this crossover.

I am speaking from the design pov because, well, i am a designer first and coder/developer second (read: way second). Also, I think that we can close the gap by developing several simple things:
