Orlando Drupal Meetup (Migrate), April 21 1pm

Start:
2012-04-21 13:00 America/New_York
Organizers:

Come learn how to use the Migrate API and a small custom module to import data from just about any system into a Drupal 6 or 7 site. Migrate has been around for a while, but the current branch relies heavily on writing code and making it very easy to run all your migrations from Drush. It also integrates with a ticket tracking system so you can have your client review the migrations.

My project is to connect to a backend system that uses Postgres and try to keep Drupal in sync with it - that will be my example this week.

    Drupal Florida Health?

Hey there ... I'm heading down to central florida for a bit of time and am curious about the general health and vibrancy of the Drupal community in that part of the world. What are the things that are working for this community and where are the areas that need some additional help? Who's using Drupal down there and what kind of cool stuff are you doing with it?

    Selling online with Drupal e-Commerce

    Selling Online with Drupal e-Commerce
    by Michael Peacock
    Pack Publishing, 2008, $39.99

Technology books are generally expected to be on the shelves shortly after major releases of a particular software and therefore do not receive the most thorough editing possible. They're also quite expensive considering they have a relatively short shelf life because they're only really in demand until the new version of the software is released. Given that this book delivers on both counts and exhaustively details the cheesy example of Doug's Dino store, it's still a worthy read.
