Nice tables

I recently had to make a jquery table in relation to my job for a back office. I was dealing with tables because of custom contents use (excluding ckk and nodes), therefore I couldn't use views; this is why I created a very tiny module to make Nice tables for Drupal. The idea is to override the theme_table function, and add an 'options' parameter. With this option you are able to deal with jquery search forms and jquery paging function.
Nice table uses jquery_plugin module.

Group organization, streamlining, jQuery 1.8/1.9, JavaScript, AJAX, jQuery Eye Candy, etc.

Hi,

actually I don't know the differences between AJAX, JavaScript and jQuery. But before answering here, maybe a wiki page is missing and could be mentioned in the group description?

In many groups such info lacks in the description. Yes I'm familiar with groups, but from Yahoo and the Dutch http://Clubs.nl (they WERE the first & the best, Yahoo bought the software and made a cut down version for its groups). So I'm not that happy with the features and design of Drupal groups, but that's another issue...

Animate Drupal API

This module would provide a framework where users can write themes and other modules to use preset animation controls for various places within drupal. so the end user doesnt need to know javascript to create cool customizable effects to any drupal element. this will allow an easy way of making drupal front end a little less static with these subtle dynamic effects..
...
eg uages of this module.

drupal_add_js and form caching

I have some jQuery code that acts on the core search form for my site (it hides the default text ('Search...') when you click/focus on the search field and shows it again (on blur) if you leave it blank). This code is in an external .js file. I have added this file to my site (using drupal_add_js) by placing it in my site's implementation of hook_form_FORM_ID_alter.

However, it seems form caching is causing problems with this - when I flush all caches the jQuery works fine, but when I reload or go to a new page, it stops working.

Horizontal jumping on variable length content

This is an old problem. This is default browser behavior: when you have centered content that does not extend below the bottom of the browser window, there is no need for a scrollbar. However, when content does extend below, a vertical scrollbar appears, thus shifting the content. This renders a seeming horizontal jump of content. Some customers care about this jump, others don't. Guess which one I'm addressing today.

The brute force fix is to redefine the topmost object:
html {
overflow-y: scroll;
}

But I don't like always having a scrollbar.

jquery presentation

there is this guy... rey@reybango.com here in miami that is not in the drupal community but is one of the evangalists of jquery. He lives up the road from me, and I met him last night. Anyway, I mentioned that there was a Drupal camp in Orlando, and he already knew about jquery in DRUPAL. I asked him if he would be interested to doing a show and tell. And he agreed. He requested that I get him up to speed on what and how jquery is used in drupal, so I am working on some stuff for him. He also asked if there was any special sugestion that we would have.
