Last SFDUG of the year and we have a an awesome lineup of really cool Drupal Topics. For the Showcase site - Jon Luini from Chime Interactive is going to show off the brand new Ben Harper websitewhich has some really cool features, like a custom built ajax framework and great integration with Facebook using Dave Cohens Drupal / Facebook module. Dave Cohen will present with Jon to show off the integration of Facebook in a live site. Ben Harpers Facebook page has 844,432 fans.

I am back from Paris Drupalcon and ready for another AWESOME evening with the San Francisco Drupal Users group.

DrupalCon will be in San Francisco in April 2010!! [ http://drupalconsf2010.org ] This is just great news for the Drupal Community, we start off this month with a presentation about how we really want to engage the local Drupal community and come together to help with the sponsorship / planning of this event.

I just got back from LA Drupal Camp and am really happy that Jason Chin from Magic Spark is also going to help us out this month opening this SFDUG meetup with the presentation he gave today at LA Drupal Camp,

Ubercart 2.0, e-commerce with Drupal 6 A practical breakdown on what Übercart is and how to setup an e-commerce website.

Presentation Takeaway: What is required and how easy it is to set up an ecommerce site with Ubercart and Drupal.

This will be a great starter session for those who may have never setup a shop using Drupal and Ubercart.

The event will be focusing on the benefits and challenges of using Drupal in your business, whether you're an established multinational or an ambitious start-up.

The evening will cover a number of topics relevant to the deployment of Drupal in a business, such as:

• Suitability of Drupal for Intranets, Knowledge Management and eCommerce
• How Drupal addresses the scalability and security needs of todays modern Enterprise
• Commercial, Enterprise Class support and services available for Drupal and associate infrastructure

This month we are proud to have a new super innovative web site be featured in our showcase series.

http://www.jobnob.com is a site which looks at Jobs and Salaries from around the country. This site rocks has a beautiful layout and uses drupal in very innovative ways. I am looking forward to learning more about hw they built this web site.

Large Community sites and How Panels works are the two topics this month.

Drupal has prove that it can run even the largest sites out there. The team over at www.greenappleventures.com has deployed some of their largest community sites using Drupal.

This month our showcase site is http://community.mylifetime.com/ which is a huge high traffic community site running Drupal.

For our technical session, I would like to engage you. You ask questions which are perplexing you and we get you answers from our local experts. So come with your questions.

On February 5th we will be giving a introductory Drupal presentation over lunch at the Thirsty Bear brewing company in down town San Francisco. Gearing things for professionals reviewing Drupal, we will discuss the software’s capabilities, support services available, and give an orientation of the open-source community behind it. After the presentation we will have a question and answer session that will put Drupal in the hotseat.

Lunch will cost $20 for attendees. We are reserving 25 seats which we expect to go quickly.

Continuing our Drupal Showcase and Technical Series we have a GREAT line-up for February.

The agenda for the February SFDUG meeting will be two Web Site Case Studies and a Tech Session. Time is 6pm to 8pm.

The two case studies for February will be Shaun Haber presenting how Warner Brothers has deployed Drupal and Ken Suzuki presenting Crushnet.com and Drupal.

The Technical Session is on Cappacino API and Drupal and how they can work together. This technical series presentation will be done by Andre Angelatoni.
