We're looking at SSO solutions to replace the system we currently use which was built in-house. Our requirements (for now) are:
- Works with Drupal
- Works with WordPress
- Works with custom PHP applications
- Supports LDAP, Kerberos and optionally SPNEGO
- Ideally Open Source
- High Availability
We've narrowed down our choices to four options:
I am building a new drupal site and need to import my existing LDAP users in order to fully configure the system and set up the content. AFAIK there is no way of importing existing LDAP users into drupal. When I use LDAP Provisioning, it wants to create LDAP users as well as Drupal users. When a user logs in for the first time, their LDAP information is imported. But I need to mass import all existing LDAP users without requiring them to login the first time.
My Scenario: I have a triggered rule set up with an Event type of "User account has been created." The trigger has a condition of "User has Role." The argument is a "registered user", and the role is a "teacher."
I also have ldap setup to allow the teachers to login.
My problem: when a teacher first logs in (for instance), they are in the correct group according to LDAP, but the "User has Role" inside of the rules module doesn't recognize this, therefore the trigger/action never happens.Read more
Hi, I have ldap authentication working with this module (http://drupal.org/project/ldap_integration).
It's working fine, if the user does not exist in drupal, it is created automatically upon login.
I would like to find some way to mass-create drupal accounts for all users in ldap, though.
Is there a way to do this? Thanks.
At work I've got LDAP (Active Directory) integration working just fine. However, I also wanted to pull profile information (Job Title, Department, Phone Number, etc.) out of Active Directory so there's a central repository for that type of information.Read more

There are several discussions about integration of Drupal, Moodle, Elgg, aTutor and so on.
- Is there a common user database?
- Which software is integrated in which (Drupal in Moddle or Moodle in Drupal)?
- Is this a real integration or only a synchronisation of user accounts?
- Which version works which version?
The current solutions are very version specific and specialized. A huge disadvantage is, that they are not using a common user database: They are only synchronising the user accounts.
As it doesn't make sense to integrate Drupal into Moodle, the question (not only Moodle specific) is: "How do I integrate other web-applications into Drupal?". In fact: "How do I use the Drupal user database from outside?".Read more
