As I'm sure you've noticed, I have been quite off the radar since DrupalCon. This is due to that I had to take care of quite a bit of personal stuff when I got back that prevented me from being as active as I wanted. Most of that has now been sorted and I will again have more time and energy to work on Media stuff.
Still, I would like to take this opportunity to apologize to everyone involved, especially those of you I have made promises to regarding work I was going to do. Hopefully I will be able to catch up on that and more from now on.Read more
I met with Thomas at Drupalcon Denver to talk a bit about how to get more people excited about and involved with improving the user experience of the Media module(s). Here's a very rough first draft of what we came up with:
Get more people excited about improving the Media module UX.
- Make it easier
- Make it fun
- Make it worthwhile

I have been playing around with the Wunderkit beta a bit and really like how you can organize projects, tasks and notes in a lightweight way.
Since they also recently made it completely free to use it there is no cost obstacle involved. It is still in beta and the features planned are really appealing.
I've added a space for us there at https://www.wunderkit.com/#/drupal-media-support-squad/profile. It is a public space so anyone can follow it if the want.Read more
There are quite a few repeating issues popping up in the Media queue, such as all those about users not getting a video player working. In many cases it turns out they are under the impression Media comes with support for this. In other cases their problems should be dealt with in the module providing the integration.
A FAQ would help us keep the queue cleaner, and at the same time be a great resource for users to find answers to common problems they face.Read more
Hello Media fans,
I would like to take this opportunity to open a discussion about what the Media Support Squad should do to best help drive the Media Initiative.
First though I would like to welcome mtnguru and jerryitt as the first two members of the squad. I am really looking forward to work with you on helping to make Media great.

I have created a Media Support Squad feature module that enables all needed modules, plus Admin menu, to quickly be able to start testing for example patches.
As an added bonus it comes with Text formats and WYSIWYG profiles for both CKEditor and TinyMCE so you easily can test that too.
You can download or clone it from http://drupal.org/sandbox/tsvenson/1428994. The project page contains instructions on how to install and enable it.
If your quick, you should have a new Media enabled site up in just a few minutes, ready for testing patches and other things.Read more
