Llevo tiempo dándole vueltas a organizar un Drupal Ladder en Valencia. Para los que no lo sepan, un Drupal Ladder, es un proyecto de la comunidad para fomentar la contribución de las personas a Drupal, mientras aprenden y se introducen al proyecto. Creo que podría ser una buena manera de fomentar la Comunidad que hay en Valencia e intentar atraer algo más de público. Este mes estoy intentando promover Drupal por los eventos que se van organizando y espero atraer a alguien (crucemos los dedos :P).

El pasado sábado 15 de Diciembre celebramos una jornada de Drupal contribute dedicada al módulo Devel organizada por Pedro Cambra y Juan Pablo Novillo y apoyada por la Asociación Española de Drupal.

Thursday following the Drupal Government Summit at the Reagan Building, we will head over to the Commerce Department's library for a Drupal4Gov ladder event.

We have the space to break up into smaller groups and will do groups:

A Newer Drupalers
B Have some Drupal or php experience
C Coders/Developers with Drupal experience

Each group will do either an issue sprint or a learning sprint.

La dinámica de estas reuniones es la siguiente:

• Nos reunimos en un lugar a convenir (seguir leyendo) con mesas de trabajo
• Hacemos un stand up delante del ladder (escalera) y nos dividimos en grupos del mismo nivel
• Cada grupo elige su área de trabajo y se pone a ello

If you were at the last OxDUG, you might have heard heather talk about the Drupal Ladder project. Do enough people in OxDUG want to do this some time in the next month or two?

Primarily the Drupal Ladder is an attempt to get more people contributing to Drupal core; but for the individual Drupaler it also provides structured training to become a more skilful Drupal developer. So everybody wins.

I'm at a local Drupal ladder meetup and I was looking through the core initiatives listed on the lesson for Find a core system that interests you and learn about it and I was surprised to notice that Date in Eight is not on the list!

What's the dealio?

Is this something you want in a place like this to try and get more people to help, to see if more people are interested? Seems that this initiative could use more publicity and the Drupal ladder could be a perfect place to do so, no?

We've started creating a curriculum for the Drupal4Gov ladder and will be doing our first Learning Sprint on August 29th. We will plan future Learning and Issue sprints and hope folks in governments around the world will going us in building government specific info into the ladder.

I've added two new events.

The 1st is on the 14th and is open to the worldwide drupal4Gov community. We have 15 call in lines and seating for 15 at the event.

And what ever will we be doing? Framing a Drupal4Gov ladder. Yep, Drupal4Gov ladder. Bryan Hirsch will be leading us in this effort. Please email me at kirsten.burgard2@va.gov to attend (phone or in person).

We are looking at all forms of government, so, state, provincial, international, school board, local, federal, etc... So, a nice assortment of folks will really make this a valuable lesson.

I'd like to start regular monthly meetups for anyone interested in contributing to the Drupal project. These meetups would be based on the content from http://drupalladder.org and separate from the current presentation style meetups at the beginning of each month. I'd like to schedule an introductory learn sprint (http://drupalladder.org/#learn-sprint) later this month. Location will likely be the Old Colorado City library (http://ppld.org/old-colorado-city-library).

I'm considering the following dates/times:
Tuesday, Aug 21st, 6:30pm - 8:00pm
or
Wednesday, Aug 22nd, 6:30pm - 8:00pm
