I started making K-12 school websites in Drupal starting in 2009. Two years and 18 sites later, I am finally feeling comfortable that we will be able to create a distribution for K-12 institutions that they can easily implement locally. It's on the radar, but we are going to develop it in D7 after migrating all our D6 sites.
