Since 2000, Geek Austin has served the Austin tech community by holding events, classes, workshops, and mixers. In 2008, GeekAustin began a series of free IT classes in SQL, MySQL, and other topics. In 2009, GeekAustin launched Linux Against Poverty -- an annual install fest which helped distribute $35K in computers to local children.
