There is now a thriving Drupal community in Bristol.
Freelancers and developers from the many Drupal shops are regularly meeting up and sharing Drupal knowledge and experiences.
We're now meeting once a month, on the third Wednesday of the month.

Hey! Following on the back of my post from a few weeks ago here, it's time to announce the date for this year's Christmas dinner. This year it'll be on the 15th December.
From discussion at the meetup at Torchbox, we've agreed to just turn up for drinks and pizza and see where the night takes us. There are also rumours of a bar tab at Colston Yard that needs to be taken care of before the end of the year... oh, although I was supposed to keep that quiet so that Tom, Rob and I could have £200 worth of drinks to ourselves :D

Hey Drupalistas!
We are just a few blinks away from the DrupalCamp Munich 2016 (31.11.-02.12.2016 CodeSprints @ Burda Media // 03.12.-04.12.2016 DrupalCamp @LMU Munich). As you know, this is our 2nd Camp after the great (and 1st) DrupalDevDays in 2010, and we think we will be great hosts again.
So, it's your part to submit your session prosposals until 14th of november and to be part of the special spirit of a camp with friends, Drupal, PHP, Symfony, beer, a lot of socializing, food, another beer, coffee, code sprints, very special welcome-bags, ...
We are thankful of our sponsors so we have a special prizing for students and WWCode. Please contact us for further information.
We look forward to seeing you at DrupalCamp Munich 2016 and to drinking a mug or two of "Gluhwein" or bavarian beer together.
Greetings from our Team

Somehow I managed to volunteer to organise this year's Christmas dinner at the last talk night. (As well as everything else, whoops...)
To make it easier, I've created a Doodle poll of some possible dates. Whichever gets the most votes by the end of next week's talk night will be the date we go for dinner.
Here's a list of suggestions for food:
* Wahaca
* Wagamama's
* Sticks 'n' Broth
* Las Iguanas
* Pizza Express
* Turtle Bay
* ZeroDegrees

Hi,
To all the people building drupal 8 sites, how are you finding it so far?
How are you working around the fact that some big contrib modules still aren't ready?
Writing your own custom modules, or building simpler sites?
Also, who's going to drupalcamp next week?
Cheers,
Derek.

Drupal Camp Bristol 2016
Hi guys,
I'm working on a blog post for 2016 Drupal Camps in the UK and keen to get it published soon so companies & employees can co-ordinate. Do you have any dates in mind (June/July), or shall I just put down TBC for now?
The dates I have so far are here http://www.imaginecreativity.co.uk/blog/drupal-camps-uk-2016
Thanks,

Also, this week is the Drupal 8 launch!, so we're moving this meetup to Thursday 19th November so that it's the same day as the other release parties. Yay, Drupal 8!

For January's talk night, we'll be doing an evening of short "lightning" talks, each of which should be a maximum of 10 minutes each.
This is a great way to see talks about a series of topics in the same evening, and a great chance for first-time or relatively new speakers to get involved.
If you would like to submit a talk, please email us at info@drupalbristol.org.uk.

Hello,
I hope all are well and happy, and that this is the correct format and location for this post.
I've been asked to post this on behalf of a client who are about to embark on a Drupal 7 'social network' project to fit within an existing Drupal-friendly set up (D7, SugarCRM, Jitterbit, Moodle, etc.). They're a good bunch and it could be a friendly, long-term relationship with a neat evolving service worth looking into.
Here it is:
