Welcome to the Groups site for the Denver/Boulder Drupal Users Group, where we discuss, share and find ways to provide local face-to-face interaction which can support activities like hosting speakers, providing tutorials, Question and Answer sessions, establishing relationships with others in the geographic area, and generally expand the community of Drupal users.
Schedule of meetings
- Boulder meetings on the 2nd Wednesday of each month. Locations vary.
- Central Denver meetings on the 4th Tuesday of each month at Open Media Foundation (Map).
- South Denver meetings are on the 2nd Monday of each month at Innovation Pavilion (Map).
- Colorado Springs meetings are on the 1st Wednesday of each month. See the SCUG Group Page.
- Carbondale/Western Slope meetings are on the 3rd Tuesday each month, see the Western Colorado group for more info.
- Northern Colorado (Fort Collins/Greeley) meetings are on the 4th Monday, see the Northern Colorado group for more info.
- Drupal Contrib Ladder meetups, to help people get started in the Drupal Contrib space, will be held on the 3rd Wednesday each month at Applied Trust in Boulder.
Other ways to connect: The #drupal-colorado irc channel generally has many folks in it, happy to help with Drupal problems.
While the group is primarily focused on Denver/Boulder, people in Fort Collins, Lyons, the mountains, the Western Slope or the plains are certainly welcome. Heck, we've even had folks from Wyoming and other surrounding states come by.
Discussions and wikis
We'll continue our series, "Drupal 8 for Newbies". Tonight we'll focus on how to get up and running on Drupal 8, including:
- getting going with Drush 8,
- site building in Drupal 8,
- how to install a new theme, and copy an existing theme and modify it.
This is another hands-on session: bring your laptop! If possible, install Drupal 8 before you come. See the notes from the September meeting for step-by-step instructions, which are here.Read more
Hi there, I'm hoping a SQL ninja will find it in his or her heart to provide me with some advice.
I've created a page view which does the following:
- Pulls in nodes from two different content types
- Filters by two different term references, one for each content type.
It's not working, although in my mind (and limited sql understanding), it should. I think maybe there's an issue with the inner joins, because it seems the sql statement would working if they weren't there.
Anyways, I've attached two images, one of the api and one of the actual sql statement.Read more
Let's explore Drupal 8! We'll download, install, and poke around Drupal 8, and start getting to know it.
This is a hands-on working session: bring your laptop with a running LAMP stack, or a way to access a remote development server. This is primarily for Drupal users who haven't yet tried out Drupal 8. But, experienced Drupal 8 users are welcome -- your advice, suggestions, and experience will help the rest of us come up to speed.Read more
This month we'll have a follow-up talk to the DCCO session "An Introduction to Containers", presented by Gabe Sullice. We'll briefly refresh ourselves on what a container is, what Docker is, and then go into some real world applications not covered in that session. By the end, we should have a working local environment set up and ready to start local development using Docker.Read more
WOO HOO!! It's that time again! Time for another great Drupal meetup!
This month we are excited to have Daniel Kinney and Neil Cousineau from E Source come talk to us about the setup and maintenance of their local development pipeline. For this they are using a combination of Vagrant, Chef, Nginx, PHP-FPM, MariaDB and of course Drupal.
Getting a pipeline setup that works is not a trivial task, so it's awesome that Daniel and Neil have agreed to come and give a few tips on what they've learned in the process.Read more
If there is one DBUG event you're going to attend in calendar year 2015. This is the one! We are going to talk about something EVERYONE needs to know: how to manage legacy sites. You've inherited a site that you've been asked to maintain and extend... now what?Read more

Oh my goodness... If you missed the Boulder Meetup this month it was a great one with discussions surrounding Drupal 8 and it's path moving forward. It seems that there are many larger shops that are pushing Drupal in the direction that benefits them most (nothing wrong with this) and in doing so they are leaving out some of the smaller contributors.Read more
Sorry for short notice but we are still planning on a DBUG meetup in Boulder this Wednesday.

Come for a discussion of devops this month: the good folks at DevPanel will be talking about their free service for managing servers, sites, teams, and projects. Time permitting, we'll also do a recap of the take-aways from Drupal Camp Colorado.
We're a group of Drupal users from the south Denver metro area: Denver Tech Center, Lone Tree, Parker, Highlands Ranch ... you get the idea. We mostly look like web designers, web developers, user interface experts, mobile device application developers -- anyone with an interest in the Drupal open source content management platform.Read more
