Denver / Boulder Colorado (DBUG)

Welcome to the Groups site for the Denver/Boulder Drupal Users Group, where we discuss, share and find ways to provide local face-to-face interaction which can support activities like hosting speakers, providing tutorials, Question and Answer sessions, establishing relationships with others in the geographic area, and generally expand the community of Drupal users.

Schedule of meetings

  • Boulder meetings on the 2nd Wednesday of each month. Locations vary.
  • Central Denver meetings on the 4th Tuesday of each month at Open Media Foundation (Map).
  • South Denver meetings are on the 2nd Monday of each month at Innovation Pavilion (Map).
  • Colorado Springs meetings are on the 1st Wednesday of each month. See the SCUG Group Page.
  • Carbondale/Western Slope meetings are on the 3rd Tuesday each month, see the Western Colorado group for more info.
  • Northern Colorado (Fort Collins/Greeley) meetings are on the 4th Monday, see the Northern Colorado group for more info.

Other ways to connect: The #drupal-colorado irc channel generally has many folks in it, happy to help with Drupal problems.

While the group is primarily focused on Denver/Boulder, people in Fort Collins, Lyons, the mountains, the Western Slope or the plains are certainly welcome. Heck, we've even had folks from Wyoming and other surrounding states come by.

Who'd be up for a Drupal uncamp?

Here's my thought:

This would more technical and for more advanced users and we'll be playing with Drupal 8.

It would be either a half- or full-day get together at Belmar Library. I'd prefer to plan for a full day.

We'd meet on a Saturday (my preference), but we could choose a different day (maybe a Friday?) based on interest. Note that the library is open only from 12 - 5 on Sundays. (http://jefferson.lib.co.us/locations/belmar-library)

I'll reserve a meeting room. (It's free)

Agile is about as polarizing as Donald Trump—people either love it or hate it. In this talk, Andy Walters makes the case for loving it by uncovering the fundamental reasons agile works for developers. He’ll cover the biggest reasons projects fail and how agile addresses them. Specific topics include prototyping, estimation, scrum concepts (standups, sprints, timeboxing, etc.), the much-debated concept of story points, and how your organization can become agile. A group discussion will follow.

Hey All,

It's that time again and this month I'm super excited that we have Alex Finnarn from CU Boulder coming in to discuss Backdrop (https://backdropcms.org/) with us. He'll give us a high level run down of Backdrop and the community around it as well as some of the benefits of moving over to Backdrop.

So head on over to AppliedTrust for some food, drinks and an interesting discussion.

If you are interested in speaking at a future Boulder DBUG meetup, please fill out this form (http://atrust.com/dbug).

Continuing the "Drupal 8 for Newbies" series: this month, we'll explore how to write Drupal 8 modules. This will be a hands-on session, not a training presentation -- so bring your laptop with Drupal 8 installed, and we'll explore the topic together.

We'll examine what's changed in D8, how to organize your code, and resources for learning more. We're generally working from the process as described at https://www.drupal.org/developing/modules/8.
