Welcome to the Groups site for the Denver/Boulder Drupal Users Group, where we discuss, share and find ways to provide local face-to-face interaction which can support activities like hosting speakers, providing tutorials, Question and Answer sessions, establishing relationships with others in the geographic area, and generally expand the community of Drupal users.
Schedule of meetings
- Boulder meetings on the 2nd Wednesday of each month. Locations vary.
- Central Denver meetings on the 4th Tuesday of each month at Open Media Foundation (Map).
- South Denver meetings are on the 2nd Monday of each month at Innovation Pavilion (Map).
- Colorado Springs meetings are on the 1st Wednesday of each month. See the SCUG Group Page.
- Carbondale/Western Slope meetings are on the 3rd Tuesday each month, see the Western Colorado group for more info.
- Northern Colorado (Fort Collins/Greeley) meetings are on the 4th Monday, see the Northern Colorado group for more info.
Other ways to connect: The #drupal-colorado irc channel generally has many folks in it, happy to help with Drupal problems.
While the group is primarily focused on Denver/Boulder, people in Fort Collins, Lyons, the mountains, the Western Slope or the plains are certainly welcome. Heck, we've even had folks from Wyoming and other surrounding states come by.

I just checked the Drupal 8 Release Parties group and I don't see anything there for Denver. I'm planning to get started putting something together that we can host at the Elevated Third office. Just wanted to be sure no one else had started the planning process yet. If I don't hear anything by tomorrow, I'll get something up on the Drupal 8 Release Parties group and have some details very soon.
Continuing our "Drupal 8 for Newbies" series: tonight, site building. This is a working "let's-explore-this-together" session, so bring your laptops!
Continuing our series on "Drupal 8 for Newbies" ...
Last month, we got sidetracked into how to update Drupal 8, which brought us all up to the new D8 release candidate. So this month we'll explore site building in D8. We'll go through adding content, defining content types, and the like -- all along discovering what's new in D8.
This is a hand-on working session, in which we'll explore D8 together. So bring your laptops, and come dive in!
If you don't have D8 on your machine yet, not to worry; we'll help you get set up. Notes from previous meetings are here:Read more
First, thanks to Brad Jones for the great talk on containers, dev environments, and log shipping and aggregation!
On a related topic, I'd love some feedback on common Drupal hosting challenges for a project I hope will solve some common issues Drupal devs run into with environments, server config, etc.
Anyway, here's the short survey if you have a minute -- I really appreciate your time!
I hope to share results at an upcoming central Denver meetup. :)
Yours in Drup,
We are starting up the Drupal Contrib Ladder again this coming Wednesday. With the recent announcement of Drupal 8 release candidate, we felt it'd be a great time to start looking at modules that are used and how we can contribute to get them ready for D8.
Bring a laptop!
Bring a module or two (doesn't have to be your module, perhaps one you use or are interested in)
Food and drinks will be provided as we sit around the table and work to make the world a better place one module upgrade at a time.Read more
Drupalistas -- Join Us for “Drupalween”
Come on down to the next Boulder Drupal MeetUp monthly gathering.
With the upcoming Halloween Celebration at the end of October, at this month's MeetUp we are featuring:
*****Drupalween! “Scary Tales” from the Drupal Side”*****
This is your Big Opportunity to “share” your best Drupal related “Scary or Horror” story. Such as “Scary Tales” of site or module bldg, theming, security issues, requests from clients and customers, management, supervisors or volunteer projects you participated in. You get the idea…Read more
Would love feedback on my approach at scaffolding a Drupal 8 project for development and deployment...Drude and Bowline are interesting but both appear focused on D7 at the moment. My project below lacks CI, so far, but anyone with some time to play around with this, I'd appreciate your thoughts.
(There was a discussion about containerized development at the recent Denver meetup, so CC'ing that group as well.)
We'll continue our series, "Drupal 8 for Newbies". Tonight we'll focus on how to get up and running on Drupal 8, including:
- getting going with Drush 8,
- site building in Drupal 8,
- how to install a new theme, and copy an existing theme and modify it.
This is another hands-on session: bring your laptop! If possible, install Drupal 8 before you come. See the notes from the September meeting for step-by-step instructions, which are here.Read more
