There has been an up and coming categorization of engineers in the Drupal world that specialize in what we call DevOps. DevOps entails managing the infrastructure and workflow practices to deliver enterprise level sites in complex environments. This should span everything from automated testing, change management tools like puppet, branching strategies, continuous integration, performance and anything else that falls in this category.
Please make every effort to keep posts in this group on topic. We will do our best to assist, but this is not a dumping ground for random requests and development problems.

Drupal Continuous Integration Tools
Hi guys!
I wanted to share something I published today: http://drupalignite.com.
Basically it's a tool and a set of practices to setup a Drupal environment under a full Continuous Integration cycle using some well-known tools as drush, phing, composer and jenkins for the build phase, phpunit and behat for the testing and features and migrate for keeping everything (structure and data) in a code driven development shape.
I published the introduction, the following chapters will be published in the next months!
You can find the code on github: https://github.com/omissis/drupal-ignite
Thoughts on a "DevOps" working group?
The global DevOps community exists to explore the concepts of process and management in a digital world. For many people, this immediately causes thoughts of automation, deployments, virtualization, source control systems, and monitoring. For others, DevOps is reminiscent of the factory processes the digital world has blurred. It becomes a conversation of workflow management, bottlenecks, team interdependence, and being able to accurately plot states of a project.

Hi,
I'm planning to configure Nginx to serve a Drupal site. The server uses Ansible for provisioning, and I'm planning to use perusio's config. The logical way to do it would be to create a role based on perusio's config.
Has anyone been working on something similar?

There is a conversation that has been building in the Drupal community ... it's a slow awakening to the realization that Drupal will not survive without embracing a DevOps culture. You've either heard the whispering, or you have known this for a long time ... come join the conversation.
In this meetup Brandon Williams will be discussing potential management issues with Drupal's default cron system and integration. He will illustrate how these problems can be targeted and solved with Drush.

About High Performance Drupal
The "high performance" part of the name is a catch-all to describe Drupal scalability, performance and benchmarking but we also discuss devops, deployment, infrastructure, high performance hosting, monitoring and highly repeatable processes.
We've been meeting since April, 2011, in a variety of locations around the Greater Los Angeles Area. Also, this meetup has been held at coffeeshops in the past and the addition of caffeine makes our meetings feel as if they go faster and faster as the night goes on.

We've been having a meetup here in denver to discuss issues related to devops and drupal. We are doing these using these on gotomeeting so that we can allow interactivity for remote participants. The first attempt at this was this event https://groups.drupal.org/node/383963 and the results can be found here https://vimeo.com/82347887

Read moreWho do you think of when you hear DevOps?
This is not as random of a question as it sounds. In an effort to continue providing quality speakers and content for upcoming Drupal events I'm reaching out to the community for help. Who, in or out of the Drupal community, do you think of when you hear the word DevOps? Who are the shops and practitioners that shine when it comes to this mysterious word?
Any help collecting this list is greatly appreciated!
