Whether you're from the panhandle, northeast Florida, the Gulf coast, central Florida, the Space Coast, or south Florida, you'll find other Drupal developers and themers here.

This month Jay Epstein (@jeppy64 http://jay-epstein.com/) covered the fourth part of "The Learning Series: Drupal 8 - Let's be friends." The following topics were covered in Part 4:

  • Introduction to Minimal Viable Product (MVP)
  • Talked about when to add people as users to sites. Drupal users consume more resources, so don't add them unless it is necessary.
  • Discussed basic settings for user roles.
  • Jay let us sign up to the site.
  • We added a site builder role and went through the permissions for all roles.

CANCELLED: Tampa Bay Drupal User's Group September Meetup

Due to the pending tropical storm/depression that is due to be the strongest in the Tampa Bay area tomorrow (September 1st) in mid afternoon, we have decided to cancel this month's meet up.

Liability as a Drupal Developer

Good day, all:

My company has been a provider of "traditional" software development for the past 30 years. However, Drupal development - or any other CMS work - has not been a focus of the company, despite the fact that we have extensive coding resources both in-house and out, we manage a significant array of servers in our Orlando data center, and we have a number of local clients (potential Drupal prospects) to whom we provide IT support services.

  • Review of Part 2, including revisiting all of the content types and how they relate to each other, and a general discussion of relativity for two first time attendees. It was a great review for us all.
  • Discussed entity references and the strategy behind dealing with "is the child record there or not".
  • Views in relativity and how obnoxiously fast they are (you have to see it to believe it)!
