The Role:
As the Assistant, Drupal Site Management, you will work with various members of the Product Development Team to maintain several Teach For America websites including Teach For America’s public-facing website, You will work closely with front-end and back-end developers to create content, manage users, perform site configuration and more. You will report to the Manager, Front End Developer on Teach For America's Marketing Web Team.

The Team:
Our job is to share Teach For America’s soul. We inspire people to get involved by sharing stories of teachers, students, and communities dedicated to expanding educational opportunity. Our insights, creative, and digital teams find the best mediums to tell these stories; our communications team works with the media to increase awareness and understanding of the problem and our solution to it; and our account team partners with the rest of the organization to create marketing strategies and solutions. We work collaboratively and closely using Google hangouts and standups; and when apart, hone our virtual skills and stay in touch with videos, blogs, and social media.

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Working with members of the Web Team to update and maintain the site configuration on an ongoing basis – 30%
  • Working with the Content Strategy Team to update and manage content – 25%
  • Provide technical support, and training to non-technical users – 25%
  • Ensuring that our properties work equally well on all modern browsers and devices – 20%
  • Helping the Web Team achieve its goal of bringing best-in-class functionality to, with an eye toward increasing the volume of high-quality corps applications, donations, and other support for the organization and our mission - 100%

Prior Experience

  • Minimum of 1-3 years of work experience
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of Drupal experience

Work Demands

  • An ability to travel 1-2 times per quarter


  • Fluent in Drupal 7, including the ability to update various forms of content, user management, and offer technical support and training
  • Detail oriented
  • Highly organized
  • Ability to learn quickly
  • Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Communicate well with both technical and non-technical staff


  • Bachelor’s degree required
