Drupal Developer

Job Summary

The Academy is seeking a Drupal developer/administrator with Drupal 7 expertise to operate, maintain, and extend our enterprise Drupal environment. The successful candidate should be a highly skilled developer, with a strong understanding of design principles, information architecture, interface design, and coding best practices with experience developing in both Drupal systems and LAMP stack environments. The candidate should also have working experience with technologies that make large size Drupal websites perform well, including Varnish, Solr and CDN solutions.

Duties and Responsibilities

Provide technical leadership for administration and configuration of Drupal 7 websites.
Add new functionalities and extend capabilities of existing Drupal 7 websites.
Manage the integration of the Drupal system with third-party applications.
Design, develop, test, and deploy new web application solutions.
Work independently and in a team setting on multiple projects simultaneously.
Work with front end Developers and Designers to develop backend solutions.
Interact with creative teams to understand project goals and vision.
Write user/system documentation and provide knowledge transfer to other team members.
Qualifications and Requirements:

A Bachelor Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or related field.
3+ years’ experience developing and theming large scale, high performance Drupal 7 websites.
Strong understanding of Drupal API, architecture, concepts & core modules.
Knowledge of specific Drupal modules and features:
Common Drupal modules such as CTools, Views, Entity API, Features, Media 2, Themekey, Taxonomy, and Token.
Creating and maintaining custom Apache Solr search result pages via the apachesolr module and creating maintaining custom facet blocks via the Facet API module.
Creating and maintaining custom base and sub themes
Experience integrating internal or third party products into Drupal websites.
Strong HTML5, JavaScript, jQuery, CSS, and SASS/Compass development skills.
Strong knowledge of PHP 5.3+ and object oriented PHP programming.
Basic MySQL programming and administration.
Experience with revision control systems, preferably Git/GitHub.
Familiarity with Acquia hosting and operating websites on Acquia's platform.
Familiarity with Akamai CDNs for content caching.
Basic knowledge of how static caches/reverse proxies such as Varnish work and how to optimize a Drupal website to take advantage of them.
Acquia Developer Certification is a plus.
Independent, self-motivated, dedicated and flexible.
Additional Requirements:
