Global Digital Community is looking for an experienced Drupal developer to join our team, in the brand new Jacksonville, Florida hub. The ideal candidate would be able to take the lead on developing and implementing innovative, effective websites and web solutions for our clients. We work with a diverse mixture of organizations, groups and brands so there will be good variety in the work you do. Many of our projects will be major builds that we are supporting other agencies on, that we “inherent” from other developers, so you will need a good level of skill to “reverse engineer” as well as make architectural changes that improve the project. We also have projects that we scope, design, engineer and develop from start to finish so you will have the opportunity to contribute to that process as well.

* This vacancy is for on-site only, at our Jacksonville, FL office. We are not currently considering any foreign agencies or individuals that are not local to work in our Jacksonville office.

The Job:

--Take the technical lead on our largest projects to ensure high-quality, timely execution.

--Collaborate with our team of designers, project managers and front-end engineers to develop project plans and to set realistic implementation schedules.

--Establish high-level development strategy on CMS-based builds through architecture, configuration and module selection.

--Improve and execute methodology & best practices for successful implementation and deployment.

--Think outside the box to help improve processes, implement new technologies, and develop innovative solutions for our clients.

What you bring to the table:

-- 5+ years PHP experience, ideally within a GNU/Linux, Apache, MySQL environment.

-- 2+ years Drupal experience.

-- Experience leading other developers and working on cross-functional teams.

-- Drupal site building experience using: Features, Context, Panels, Display Suite, Views

-- Experience creating custom Drupal modules.

-- Proficient in SQL, relational databases (MySQL)

-- Proficient in JavaScript and familiar with AJAX and JQuery

-- Familiarity and experience using Git

--You're a problem solver. You would rather figure out the best solution than be told how to do it.

--You're organized. You can manage multiple projects with an eye on project specs, quality and schedule.

-- You're fun and easy to work with.

It would be great if you also:

-- Are involved in and contribute to the Drupal community

-- Have experience with some of: Drupal 8, Drush, CLI, Server Management, Less, Bootstrap

What we'll bring to the table:

--A great team environment, with plenty of opportunity to lead and learn.

--A metro accessible office in downtown Jacksonville, Florida.

—Access to our unique “escape hub” network that allows you to travel the globe and work out of our digital escape hubs, in countries like Brazil, New Zealand, Scotland and others.

--A full-time position with a competitive salary.

—Opportunities for training and attending conferences (DrupalCon!, FL DrupalCamp).

—Flexible Scheduling and some telecommute possible.

--We're an Equal Opportunity Employer

--Additional perks and benefits
