Harvard Medical School seeks a highly motivated and creative developer to work as part of a team delivering web solutions with Drupal as our web publishing platform.

The Web Developer is responsible for research, iterative development, design experimentation, and software development on projects delivering CMS enabled (Drupal framework) web sites, native mobile applications for iOS and Android, and internal software focused on employee productivity, work stream automation, and collaboration.

Responsibilities:
• Design and develop new and improved solutions leveraging Drupal and a wide variety of APIs.

• Work with project team members to clarify business requirements, develop technical scope and documentation, as well as write, test and maintain Drupal code.

• Gather and communicate technology requirements both to and from customers. Build upon and maintain a high-performance & scalable platform hosting multiple external and internal websites.

• Rapidly iterate on platform features, developing new modules and elegant solutions using Drupal API. Write front-end code using Drupal theming engine, HTML5, CSS3 and JavaScript. Participate in design and architecture reviews of new applications and major system enhancements.

• Demonstrate a strong customer service ethic and a positive can-do attitude among members of the HMC community on web-related activities.

Qualifications: Bachelor's degree (preferably in Computer Science) plus a minimum of 4 years of development experience in web and internet technologies, preferably in a large global organization. Demonstrated experience with object-oriented Drupal development and experience with PHP, JavaScript, HMTL5, and CSS3. The successful candidate will have broad technical delivery experience and experience working in an agile team. Must have the ability to function as part of a team and have a “big picture” orientation with strong attention to detail. Strong collaboration skills and the ability to build strong “win-win” relationships with partners are required. A results and performance driven attitude with a strong sense of accountability and drive to get results is also required.
