Content Management and Content Engineering consultant company is actively seeking an experienced, independent senior Drupal developer in Austin, Texas to help build a distributed Drupal practice.

The role will be consultative, client-facing, and communication-heavy, and it may involve service delivery from both your home office as well as a client location.

It will also involving working in a 100% distributed development team, using a roughly agile scrum development methodology.

Requirements include a deep first-hand skill set in developing web applications, including websites, CMS and related integrations, CRM, commerce, and experience with custom web development is a must.

You should be skilled in current and emerging technologies to include; PHP, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, XML, MySQL, AJAX. Familiarity and experience with Adaptive and Responsive design helps. You should be able to demonstrated creative problem solving in layout and technical challenges, cross-browser compatibility, and presentation frameworks.

This role requires a senior level knowledge of the principles with content management systems (CMS) and a willingness, interest, and aptitude to learn new technologies and skills, especially involving migration from legacy CMS platforms on the .NET platform to Drupal. It helps if you have a general understanding of UI design principles, or experience prototyping. You should be a strong team player who can communicate at a high level within a distributed team, with end users and clients. You should be able to keep estimates, documentation, and timekeeping up to date and have the ability to manage time while working on a variety of tasks.

Duties and Responsibilities include the following.
• Lead practice initiatives working with clients, agencies
• Proficient in the maintenance, administration, and development of Drupal 7 modules and sites
• Experience integrating open source and third-party applications into existing systems
• Manage vendors and 3rd party project participants
• Turning design and user interface mockups into functional websites
• Work with clients and developers to estimate development effort
• Interact with cross-functional teams to ensure complete delivery of web applications
• Lead design and code reviews
• Assist in release management activities of web sites built with Drupal
• Assist with end-user support needs and perform troubleshooting and issue resolution
• Monitor web servers for performance and communicate with network personnel or web site hosting agencies to address hardware or software issues affecting web site.
• Routine maintenance - both module and core updates for multiple web sites
• Develop and document technical requirements and solutions
• Participate in daily meetings and regular planning and review sessions (using Scrum / Agile Methodology)
• Work with internal business owners and IT to assess the usability, features & functionality of internally managed tools & applications and ensure a seamless flow from the web to the application(s).
• Active ownership and accountability for all assigned projects through final delivery, meeting all timeline milestones and delivering within the approved budgets.

Additional Preferred Skills
• Familiarity with package management and continuous integration tools (ie, Bower, Jenkins, Grunt)
• Experience with Drupal Commerce / Ubercart
• Familiarity with Puppet, Vagrant or other development stack provisioning systems
• Familiarity with SASS
• Familiarity with jQuery and related plugins (Isotope, Masonry)
• Familiarity with a frontend MVC frameworks, like Bootstrap, Backbone and Angular JS
• Good understanding of OOP concepts and design patterns

Contract basis to start. This is ideal for someone who has a solo or limited-resources consultancy and is interested in joining a firm longer-term.
