The Media group is the working group for the Drupal 7 File entity module, Media module and all the various modules that extend Media. The Media group is a place for all interested parties to collaborate and discuss anything related to the Drupal Media "ecosystem".

NYC Camp Media sprint report
New York city Drupal camp happened last weekend in United Nations HQ and there was, among numerous other things, Media sprint going on. Organizers did their best to bring some of the most active Drupal Media contributors on-site. We are very happy and thankful that they made this possible, as we managed to achieve some very important steps forward.

Managed Files Not Appearing in 'My Library' Tab of Media Browser
I wrote a custom drush command that takes files in a directory and copies them to the public:// filesytem of a Drupal installation (OpenScholar, to be specific). While the files are copied over and entries are made in the file_managed DB table, these files aren't appearing in the 'My Library' tab of the media browser. So the question is: what cause files to appear in 'My Library'?

Clipboard integration
I've made a short video how it works in WP when you buy a commercial product called Image Elevator. I was in luck to have beta test it and now i use it on my blog. Using it (like on Gmail) is just amazing - it makes writing a blog post really fast and natural as using MS Word.

If this could be achieved in Drupal it would be a killer feature for all content creators.
The nearest implementation I've found is filefield sources (with clipboard) + insert, but it is not as sleek as seen on video.

Overriding theme_link on wysiwyg embedded images
Using the latest dev of Media on D7.25, I'm having a small issue when embedding images that are linked through the view mode.
I try to override theme_link to add a FID attribute to the links but this does not work unless I flush the cache manually. I can't seem to find any clues as to where in Media or media_wysiwyg the links get generated initially or if this is a cache issue.
On the site we have disabled all caching during development so it's kinda weird we have to flush the cache at all.

Trying out a new tool for surfacing good ideas
It's been a pet peeve of mine for a long time that, while D.O and G.D.O have a lot of great ways to add ideas and discuss them there's really no efficient way of collectively prioritizing the ones we should focus our efforts on.
I have spent a lot of time trying out different tools that do this, as well as trying to design and build them. We may at some point reach a home-grown solution, but in the meantime I have found a very simple and effective tool that I'm trying out. It's called Tricider. I've posted an initial question here:

Drupal 8 media sprint report
As a follow up to the Prague media/file handling core conversation on Wednesday a group spent most of the contribution day brainstorming and finding concensus on a way to clean up the media situation in contrib for D8. As Crell suggested during the core conversation we have an opportunity to challenge current assumptions and "blue sky".
